I’ve noticed this for some time, but though I should finally try to get a clear answer. When looking at various LB artist pages, I’ve noticed that some albums don’t have dates on them when they were released. An example of this can be seen on Petra’s page (ListenBrainz). Is it because only releases with year, month and day are shown and not those that just have year? If it is that way I’d think it should change to show the release dates of those that just have years, especially that that sorting by release date has been added to the artist page.

Looks like a bug in our code, and partial dates (year only or year+month) are not handled correctly in one of the steps.
It has been reported before, but not thoroughly looked at.
