Reediting one of my first added releases

This is one of the first releases I ever added. Now I realize I did it incorrectly. I grouped many YT videos that were released at different times into one release. For every recording in it I added a separate video and one rec on release level:

I did this because they are all part of the “OneShot Song Package” and I didn’t know then about other methods of adding it. Now I believe that the correct way is to add them as separate video releases and then to group with a new series/work. The only question is what is preferred? Should I add the series for it or one large work called “OneShot Song Package” that includes these parts (Silverpoint, Children of the Ruins etc) or both can/should be used?

Another question: how should I add the order in any of these cases? The idea in this package is that there are two alternative endings and you can choose only one (at the end of “Niko and the World Machine” video) as it was in the original game, meaning they occupy the same place in the order of the work. Can I use the same number for multiple tracks? At least at the release level, yes, it is possible, but will it be correct?

Just a quick reply sorry: Since YouTube doesn’t support “albums” as such (except as playlists) I think it is fine to follow artist intent and keep these together, based on the video annotations:

“Track 4/5 from the OneShot Song Package…”

But you may have a reason for wanting to split these out, which imo would be fine too

P.S. I see no problem with adding two recordings at position #5 (in a release and/or in a work listing), though an annotation explaining why would be helpful.

So you think, that’s totally fine. Thanks for clarifying. The problem if I keep them together is its release data, because all tracks were uploaded at different times. So my question is: what should be actually added as release data: data when the first track was published, because it is the moment, when it started or maybe data of the last one because only then the full release was finished? If I add many release events, usually it will be interpreted as many release events and not as release data of every track, so it is not really helpful.

That’s exactly what I did. But thanks for confirming that it is a normal practice even if it is not something standard.

Ah, good question. If you still want to add them as a single release (you are the resident expert on these, at least until another fan pipes up, so it’s up to you) you would add just one date, that of the of the last/latest piece of data included in the release.

P.S. I’ll have to check these out though! I am a big fan of the OneShot soundtrack (and game) and have done a bit of editing on the Nightmargin page!
