Proposed text for definition of "Soundtrack" on Release Group /Type documentation

I could go either way. What was I thinking that phrase was clarifying? I don’t remember now.

Does everyone agree with Ivan’s suggestion?

Hmm, put me down as a gentle disagreement, I think bocuma’s imaginary soundtracks going into the ‘soundtrack’ section are more in line with artist intent and how I would expect to browse the site:

If agreement goes the other way then I’ll move them, though. This is one of those situations where I wish more people would weigh in - or @reosarevok makes a call

It all gets a bit more complicated with a’ soundtrack’ for a book, which was one of my examples - is there really a practical difference between one that’s fan-inspired and one that’s ‘official’? Particularly if the fan one is very good

Would love to see some kind of “fan inspired” property. It is not a bootleg, and it is not official. But still an official release of that artist.

Everyone catalogues music on their shelf different. It is one of the reasons I like just following industry standards. If the album was sold in a high street store would it be on the Soundtrack shelf? Would it go into the Soundtrack sales chart?
