Picard and Beatport

Hello,
I am a french newbie. I want to use Picard for find tag on Beatport beacaus all my mp3 are electronic music.
I don’t know how to do this with picard.
Could you help me ?

Thank you

Not sure what exactly you want to do. You want to tag your local files and fetch the metadata from Beatports?

Picard is build for the MusicBrainz database and fetches metadata from there only. So there is no Beatports support. In theory it might be possible to have a Picard plugin to search data from Beatports, but none exists (and I also don’t know whether Beatports provides an API to fetch the data).

Yes, you are right. I want to tag my local files with metadatas from Beatport with Picard.

I am thinking it was possible with userscript

I hope that a plugin will be born soon.

Thank you for your help.

There is a browser user script to import releases from Beatports into MusicBrainz, maybe that is what you meant:

Once the release is in MusicBrainz you can use Picard with it.

Yes, y saw. I installed the userscript for beatport https://raw.github.com/murdos/musicbrainz-userscripts/master/mb_relationship_shortcuts.user.js, the installation iwas OK but i’don’t find who it do to work. How i can use it ?

That’s a different one, the Beatport script is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/murdos/musicbrainz-userscripts/master/beatport_importer.user.js

Once installed there is an “Import into MB” button on the Beatport release pages.

When you import make sure the release does not already exist in MB. The “Search in MB” button can help here.
