[mailed in] [mayhem] Unexpectedly, after my digestion was finally starting to go the right way, the rest of my body got upset with me and I ended up in hospital.
I’ve been treated for an infection for the last four days and pumped full of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and other anti-whatevers. It’s been a really unpleasant experience, but I’m on the mend and will be released in the morning.
I’m starting to deal with emails and whatnot again, and I want to thank everyone for keeping the show running, you are awesome. Back with you later this week!

did some server patching & email debugging / product research (in case we need to work with an external service to reliably deliver mail)

last week I finished fixing a few mb-solr issues related to incorrect relationship JSON (though I need to open the PRs today)
also worked on a small change to run msgmerge on our .po files during test runs in the CI branch (to fix a recurring source of test failures)
and other misc. CI issues related to MTCaptcha and duplicate push/pull_request runs

just minimal work last week, as I was stuck to bed due to a bad flu, feeling slowly better, still tired, but I resume the work
so, I upgraded all servers, fixed issues with ansible related to those upgrades (and a change in influxdata repo related to telegraf, preventing upgrades)
also handled few user reports (usual blocked IPs mainly)
plus Picard PRs reviews

a bit of MB editing and Harmony hacking.
Nothing which can be released though, a feature which I thought to be simple ended up being more work…

[monkey] Last week I fixed a bug with entity deletions on BookBrainz, after someone reported a prolific spammer. Spam is now deleted and the spammer is immortalized as the first blocked user on BB
Also reviewed some PRs for BB, and deployed a new version, now with book cover art pulled from Open Library
On the LB side I worked on the BrainzPlayer queue system, making it so that playing from the middle of the page will continue from there rather than going back to the top.
Also investigated a strange mapping bug, and responded/followed up with user queries on social media and forums
Also helped a user identify an issue with scrobbling, which turned out to come from a third party plugin in Music Assistant, and opened an issue with them.
And some PR Reviews to start going through the backlog of a December to busy with YIM to do reviews…

[failure] i rounded off LB#1852 with some frontend tests

and did some research on how we could add Tidal Music as a music source for BrainzPlayer
(and accidentally bought the premium subscription)

last week, i looked into YIM emails delivery failure and we found out its a broader email delivery issue due to Google SMTP relay limits.
also, did some work on refactoring stats for more reliability and faster turnaround. and did some work on MeB OAuth. that’s it for me.

I also worked on triaging some tickets, reviewed some PRs.
And worked on adding a new discovery page on LB,

I couldnt get much done this week as a loved one got hospitalised : ( and i was with them the whole time . Theyre discharged now, I plan to work on ny assigned issues and get back to some feedbacks on my prs.

[Nirvan Jain] This week mostly worked on the issue of extending the search functionality and learned some cool and new things related to KMP as well.

Created tickets for further migration steps
Reviewed PRs as usual

I focused on Picard testing and stabilizing, mainly cover art handling and the built-in player. Also code review, we had some new small but welcomed contributions.
Things are progressing well. Now we have some documentation to finish I think, rdswift is on it

This week I worked on a few small tickets that had accumulated during Christmas, nothing big, but hopefully useful
Other than that, just catching up further, removing new spammers, dealing with reports
Also reviewed some code that had also been sent during Christmas
Hopefully we will have a beta release tomorrow with a bunch of those things

Mostly just been working on SAMBL’s Track aggregation and issue checking as well as the list sorting.
