I have an event later this morning, so I won’t be running the post-dev-meeting-community-meeting on Discord. For the same reason, the meeting notes might be a day or two late again :-0

[mailed in] Almost done with the Spotify importer now, just the final submission of listens is left now.
Also almost done with the UI part as well
Waiting for review from lucifer for the spotify importer
Will be working on review given by monkey for the UI part for now

[fettuccinae] Last week i’ve worked on implementing the sending mail part of my project
and worked on a small clean-up pr.
This week i’ll work on adding cron jobs

[mayhem] last week was a short week, since i was baking in portugal, lol.
and then I returned to the beginning of the quarter, so I had to pay people and do the monthly accounting.
that’s mostly done now. there were other background tasks dealing with making payments and other fiddly bits.
busy week overall.
I managed to get a little lb-local work in last week – I’m hoping to tody up a few things more and let more people play with the instance I’ve setup. monkey seems excited from what’s he’s seen, so that is good.

Last week I mainly shut down the Solr 7 search index dumps for MusicBrainz.
Then I reviewed a few large MBS PRs, triaged tickets and MB Docker issues.
I checked SEC tickets and did a few dependency updates.
Also, I updated and deployed MTCaptcha for the account creation page to test.mb.o.

Last week, I did a bit of cleanup after we removed old SOLR7 servers
We got another surge of rogue AI bots traffic that needed some care, I blocked half of the internet, then lift the block
(not half, but a lot)
also fixed a weird bug in Picard, reviewed some PRs, MB edits, user support, and usual system upgrades & supervision.

[jade] last week was reasonably productive. I sorted out dependancy conflict, and updated the configuration to match the new database stuff
Created a bunch of issues laying out details of what I need to do in the next couple of weeks
Also had a chat with julian45
Luckily tantivy doesn’t have any conflicts like that so should be much easier when I get to it
I also livestreamed working on libretto a couple of times - Fun, but tiring xD
The security stuff I mentioned last week has been postponed again

was out for part of this week celebrating 4th of july weekend w/ family
but besides that:
checked in with Jade on things, continued upping rust skills, read through arcane jira docs in hopes of making future mgmt easier in future, did patches & upkeep on auth server & software

last week I updated a few PRs based on review feedback, mostly getting the tests services one merged and the updating-supported-browsers one
also worked a lot more on the alternative tracklists UI and made some good progress there
otherwise I mostly spent time on code review and other misc. tasks

[Hemang Mishra] This week was good. I worked on login automation suggested by jasje in our last meet.
It was really fun and challenging at the same time. But finally completed and pushed it today.
Also got designs verified for the same by aerozol.

[monkey] The last couple of weeks I payed up some of our technical debt in LB, specifically refactoring Less > Sass and refactoring the front-end test suite from enzyme to react testing library (a slow WIP), both projects removing an annoying duplication of development dependencies.
I also reviewed some PRs including some from our GSOC contributors.
Glad to see the progress of these new features
Short week also for me as I had a long weekend away in the Monegros desert, a singular choice during a heatwave.

[ansh] Last week, I continued my work on improving brainzplayer and fixing performance issues.
Other than that, I majorly spent time reviewing GSoC PRs by holycow23 . They’re looking pretty good right now.
And also reviewed a major CSS Refactor PR by monkey which was hugeeee.

last week, did some work on trying to fix the artist similarity data. also looked into queries from GSoC contributors, yet to review the latest set of changes on their PRs though.

Last week I’ve been reviewing a PR which adds a YouTube Music provider to Harmony!
The draft looks promisising but also annoying because you can’t use YouTube’s internal API without a library, at least not while trying to stay sane
Over the weekend there has been a sudden increase of Spotify lookups which caused hours of HTTP 429 errors for three days in a row now.

The rate limiting seems to be very aggressive, the API went straight from answering every request to HTTP 429 with a Retry-After value of multiple hours.
So far I haven’t found a way to avoid this, I’m still trying but the issue always starting during my night doesn’t help

Some code reviews and ticket handling for Picard. Also did a small fix.
This and next week I have vacation, will be doing a lot of family time and likely won’t be online that much

Mostly spent time on fixing some bugs and updates on LB iOS
Releases are blocked for some reason so will have to pick that next

[mamanullah7] Last week I’ve mostly refactored my backend and frontend!
I’ve tried to solved one issue refresh_token and whole week solving this issue created lot of another issue in frontend and solving frontend issue and then whole week i was keep repeating same thing!! Now i realised and blamed fw for that issue idk still facing issue!
Last week I’ve also improved the searching and selection of songs to reduce the mismatch of songs from funkwhale servers!

I worked on 3 of the stats from my proposal
The PR for all 3 are up
The testing is yet to be done so hopefully I can wind that up by this week
Hoping to start with the 4th Stat by next week

Last week I mostly refactored our switch statements (and a few other things) to use the new match feature Flow released
Which is quite neat
Other than that, code review, a few small fixes, the usual
By the way, I’ll be off to Estonia next weekend
I’ll be around but less until the end of the month more or less after that

We have one topic that I left here from last week, MBS-14035
[MBS-14035: Removed all unused editor accounts that haven’t logged in since 2013-03-28]
mayhem : I just wanted to make sure nobody saw any good reasons not to do that, but you weren’t here last Monday so I thought I’d bring it up again to be safe

It is agreed to proceed with the account removal and to backup the editor table, or a data dump that contains the editor table, and save that for a little while, just in case.
