[mailed in] [monkey] Last week I discussed donations with the LB team and we started implementing the various pages on ListenBrainz.
I picked the background data exports PR back from lucifer to do the UI parts. That is almost finished.
I worked on OAuth applications pages on the MEB website, not much work needed apart from a bit of cleanup, all in all.
And finished ordering t-shirts for the summit.
Finally, a little bit of PR reviews, and some vacationing.

[mailed in] Feeling way better and GETTING READY FOR THE SUMMIT!! WOO!
I prepped some summit stuff, e.g. a summit notes doc and a shared folder for presentations.
I put it all on the wiki - there are links to the slideshow templates you can use there as well: MusicBrainz Summit/24 - MusicBrainz Wiki
I was reading the summary notes from last year and apparently nobody had their presentations ready haha. Consider this a reminder!

I also drafted a blog post/summit announcement, but still need some questions answered before posting. Otherwise we can have a surprise! summit
Apart from that I did some ticket review, some socials, and misc, lots of little things these days.

[mayhem] greetings from Chandigarh in India!
my trip was fairly uneventful, which was nice.
lucifer and I went to look at the hotels and all the summit lodgings to work out who should go where.
we’ll cover the summit in more detail in the topic later.
but we’ll have a mail going out to everyone with a summary of what the plan is.
aside from that, I was doing the finances so I can work out where we stand.
and I discovered a bug in my one my scripts, which caused a mess. 6 hours of cleaning and i have another 2 to go.
so painful.
but things should be more robust going forward.
I also have push out the announcement for the fairmuse project.
and then helped with PR reviews and discussion about LB donation page and user flair.
and emails, and customer stuff and… and… and…

I’ve mostly been preparing for the summit (chocolate acquired, most important), continuing with setting up yellowhatpro’s project on aretha (and working through some issues with him), and doing code review (but mainly trying to help out with reosarevok’s conversion of the recording editor form to React)

[Goemon] Managed to finally fix my internet connection (was on my mobile teether for almost a month )
Just in time for the summit so I will be away for 10 years I’m paying for TWO internet connections and will be using neither, yaaaayyy
otherbits: I have done preparations for summit + moving the work enviro over. expect great things!

[yellowhatpro] last week was mostly about figuring out running melba on test.mb
melba is the MB External Link wayBack Archiver
But apart from it, we’ve been running into a couple of issues due to sqlx and pgbouncer not working hand in hand, so ig we gotta use some other way

I applauded yellowhatpro for his project which is successfully running on test.mb.o as expected!
Otherwise just fixed my laptop and kept rehabilitating its chair-keyboard interface.

Last week, I mainly did the usual maintenance, upgrades, user support, and tons of MB edits.
Also spent some time on preparing the second week of the India trip (5 of us heading to Shimla via Chandigarh), almost all booked.

participated in hackathon (won 2nd place) so was kinda busy

Last week travel preparations grew over my head and I only had very few time for my SoC project, not getting close to a satisfying state where it is worth a nice blog post.
Together with monkey I decided to extend the project beyond the summmit, when I am back home and able to fully focus on it again and finish the loose ends.
Nevertheless I might still find a bit time to work on it this week since I have setup everything on my laptop now, from my which I am reporting to you right now
(I have already left home for a week of pre-Delhi vacations)

Last week I was on a business trip half the week, afterwards got sick for two days. Hence not much happening on the MB side.
But I managed to do some travel arrangements for our small after summit travel group.
I want to prepare the Picard presentation the coming days, so I don’t arrive at the summit as unprepared as last year

Last week, I worked on setting up a new page for recordings on LB. And continued working on the donor’s page.
Refactored the Music Neighbourhood web and integrated it to the Artist’s Page.
And worked on caching cover art calls to prevent 429 errors.

last week, i worked on improving how we store donations data in MB, adding prefills to the donation pages, backend support for flair in LB.
debugged a couple of stats and spark issues.
and did some summit planning with mayhem

I spent most of the second half of the week working on porting the recording editor to React, motivated by spending the first half reviewing and improving [pull 3264] by a volunteer which was a dependency for itOther than that, the usual banning of spammers, answering of questions, and fixing of small tickets

And some stressing about the summit trip since I haven’t left Schengen since I was a toddler
Plus on Sunday I went to the zoo and it was cute

Been busy with work and trying to make the most of the last of the summer so nothing from me this week.

[Jade] I finally moved in checks the day before yesterday!
I’m now in uni, which unfortunately means some stuff clashes with meetings a bit, and I won’t be here as much
I do get the pleasure of walking freshers to the climbing gym though : )
There’s not much on the code front, just dependency updates.
And my new place has pretty slow internet, not fun when I try to use docker… I’ll have to get that sorted

[mayhem] the plan is that everyone will be met at the airport. except aerozol
actually no, the metro runs when he arrives.
he can make it to delhi and we’ll pick him up at the metro near our summit HQ.
a few things to keep in mind: for each arriving group (etihad, lufthansa, air india and qatar) please have at least one person with charged mobile and working sim.
that will be really helpful for communicating upon your arrival.
we’ll have more details for the arrival plans in the coming days.
and we’ve made our best guesses for who should sleep where – it was a bit of a puzzle.
we recognize that not all arrangements may be ideal. we have an extra room a day later that we can expand to.
but for the first night or two, lets see if we can make things work
next, timing and streaming.
the summits in spain, we lollygagged in the morning and streamed in the afternoon.
that isn’t going to work very well, in this case, due to timezones.
so I am not entirely certain how to deal with this, but one approach could be:
assuming lunch is at 2pm, we could have a steaming session from noon to 2pm , as a general plenary session for topics that may interest everyone.
then lunch.
after lunch we can break into maybe 2 time-slots where we can do more project specific meetings so that we can be a bit more focused.
we should schedule them so that people can attend the ones they want and not have serious schedule conflicts.
so, nothing is set in stone. does anyone have any comments, feedback, questions?
not sure we can fully work out the schedule now, but lets see if there are reactions or objections and then we can ponder more.

A bit of discussion but nothing set in stone, stay tuned for more information.
