[mailed in] [ericd] This week I added some minor improvements when reversing the timeline slider to get the calculation right and optimized mobile view in PR#2824, which was finally merged!

This week I’ve been working a bit on prototyping parts of the mail service [repo]
So far I have rendering the templates to HTML and text
as well as some aux stuff like OpenAPI spec generation and live reload
I’ve also set up a dev copy of MusicBrainz Server just today
after some struggles with docker vs podman xD

last week I continued working on schema change tickets and did a small amount of code review. nothing too interesting to report
will be testing production changes for postgres v16 more this week

Last week I finally finished the required refactoring of Harmony (my MB seeder) for which I had lost the passion four months ago.
Once that was done, I’ve made good progress with exposing more of the internal features to the web UI.
I am almost done with what I consider the essential bare minimum features, so it might be ready for release very soon.

Last week I spend most of the times cleaning up/refactoring Picard code.
I also helped atj with new solr cloud deployment
plus usual supervision, user support, system maintenance tasks.

Last week, I helped reosarevok with releasing an MB Server/Docker update,
with instructions to work around a blocking edit for some obsolete mirrors.
The next day I fixed a regression in MB Docker Compose project, thankfully reported by @derat.
Later on plugged the new SolrCloud 9 instance set up by atj into test.musicbrainz.org.
Also made and merged some improvements to build MB docker images in production.
More improvements to come for the Perl 5.38 upgrade (and pre-built mirror images).

[pranav] I continued work on BrainzPlayer, have started work on excluding some device sound files such as ringtones etc showing up
Rest, waiting on a Pr review for the phase 1 of the UI revamp

[mayhem] last week was a fair amount of accounting follow up and some other relationship management.
but then I finally got past that and started working on troi and finishing a major refactor.
after that I started working to release the next version of LB radio, which is looking much nicer all around.
there was some gsoc work as well.
I have to say, we have a lot of good proposals – a lot better than the past two years.
which brings other challenges, for sure.

mostly worked on OAuth related stuff last week, made lots of progress on testing and ironing out issues.
90% of the code is done, took 90% of the time. the rest should take 90% as well.
also, looked into some misc LB issues and gsoc discussions.

Last week I worked on making some final changes on React Query, to make it ready for merge.
I had a great discussion with monkey to make the SPA feature ready for merge before the GSoCers enter the ring.
I also worked on BrainzPlayer SPA. I also tested the Queues feature with SPA, and it is working fine, just need to cleanup a bit.
And spent some time reviewing PRs

last week i deployed Solr and HAproxy onto the new cluster VMs
thanks to zas and yvanzo for their assistance with various aspects of that
once the indexing was complete i began looking at how to load test the system to determine the level of performance available
this led me down another rabbit hole of having to find and test different tools
ending up with jmeter

Last week I mostly kept converting our React components to use the new Flow component syntax (which is almost done, except for the trickiest bits, and seems like it’ll lead to 3000 less lines of boilerplate and types, which is neat)

[LupinIII] I’ve finally gotten a new computer!! yaay!
I’ve spent the entire week working on getting things n order, win 11 is kinda dumbdumb : D
in fact I’m right in the middle of it right now :DDDD
I’ve also gotten new neigbours and they are hammering the wall right now in the meetig XD
anyway that’s it for me. I’ll be getting back to your regular squeduled instrument shenanigans soon ™

So far I started to revising new tickets in metabrainz
its the finals week so things kinda busy
so im trying to keep myself working by doing some small commits
also still working on my PR (im srry monkey, its taking a litttle bit more time that it was supposed too)
finally fixed spacing problems
and working on frontend part

did some code refactoring to fix some bugs
explored spotify-ios sdk
using it in our app for song playback
hopefully, we can consider it done by this coming week

Sadly, most of my weekdays last week were consumed by sickness. However, in the end, I managed to finalize some mockups for the alias and identifier sections after discussing them with monkey
Over the weekend, I got the chance to mentor at a hackathon.

[LupinIII] so we have now got bridges to both matrix and discord
we had a conction to telegram in #musicbrainz-telegram
but that bridge seems to be broken (posts in the telegram group doesn’t seem to show in the irc and visa versa)
initially there where issues with /off message and the like, but that (as well as spam issue) was solved
the only thing we rally need to do is get a hold of jfloey and get onboard with integrating it
to actual musicbrainz
and since we have both matrix and discord i think this should be done

@reosarevok says they are not against the idea. And that “If you can try to get in touch with jflory, we could hopefully help him with it”. @ApeKattQuest_MonkeyPython says they will try get in touch with jflory.
