Last week I was ill
so I didn’t do a lot of things
I feel better now so hopefully this week I will get back in gear!

I spent most of the week converting the system for edit display to React
(mostly making sure the flow types work)
And actually releasing the beta / prod releases
Other than that, small fixes mostly, and working on images for instruments with @ApeKattQuest_MonkeyPython

last week I mostly did code review for the release and worked more on the release editor
I ran into some problems trying to combine knockout and React for the artist credit editing so I’m just converting more of it to React…
I also submitted a PR for MBS-12079 which was reported by @Zas to hopefully fix some semantic markup errors reported by Google

last week we released another Picard 2.7 beta
I also worked on few Picard PRs, and code reviews
then we proceeded to fail the upgrade of gaga
I also started to work on upcoming consul upgrade
apart that, usual maintenance, upgrades, user support, etc.

last week was the gaga upgrade, end of year report queries and getting top discoveries 2021 going again

if the recording_mbid column is NULL, it means that the data couldn’t be matched. check to see if you need to add some albums to MB.
I also caught up on all the business BS that backed up due to the CAA mess.
speaking of CAA mess, have we heard anything from the radio stations in south america?

Last week i continued work on making BrainzPlayer separate, with tandy’s help.
I finished up a PR improving user feedback love/hate songs) in LB
I worked on showing cover art in LB:

There was also a need to redo the ListenCard CSS a bit to accommodate that:

Also worked with @akshaaatt on the Listenbrainz redesign, making some headway on a mockup

i did some debugging around failing dumps and missing imports in spark. also, worked on various LB year in music stuff - user’s most prominent color, new releases of top 50 artist. other than that some misc discussions and follow ups on existing PRs. that’s it for me.

last week I attended the ismir conference online, and saw some interesting projects using MB and AB data
I also saw a few interesting things that we could use in LB for recommendations, I shared some things in chat throughout the week
I reviewed a huge number of LB prs, !m lucifer for continuing to work on those
I did some work on dumping timescale tables as a part of the full dump
I was around during the 2 gaga upgrades
we merged and released the documentation update for LB listen format, and I forumed it here:
Updates to recommended listen data fields to report clients and track sources
I also updated settings in all of the brainz readthedocs for which I have access to disable google analytics and disable paid advertising

Last week was tedious for me with many college deadlines and exams since the semester ends for me in a couple of weeks, followed by a month of break.
During the weekdays, I could only get to work on some enhancements I had due on some PRs.
I had a cold as well due to the changing weather but now I am sound.
I mainly worked during the weekend and designed the Login, Register, and Profile page for the MB revamp. The PR should be final in a day or two.
Looking forward to making some tweaks to LB this week since I have found some areas of improvement.

during the summit we talked about doing a doc sprint in january – we weren’t ready to commit to a date yet…
can we now? we proposed the week of Jan 17.
I’ve decided to document my job that week. all the non-technical things
a @rob disaster recovery plan, effectively.
any objections to that week being a doc centric week?
