I spent a couple days testing the edit forms I converted to React.
Started replacing bits of Knockout.js with React in the release & relationship editors, since it’s becoming harder to reuse code there.
Started reviewing @chhavi’s new design-system PRs.
And read more of the Postgres-BDR documentation.

ok so, slightly long review:
I was supposed to be back last monday, because I felt my vacation was done and I was starting to look forward to doing instruments and work and stuff again, but guess what?
I became Ill! \o/
anyway I am still sickly, but I am on the mend.
Therefore this week I intend to get back in the game with instruments and chhavi feedbacks
Things to do: sort out the drums vs. drumset mess once and for all, me @Freso and @reosarevok should have a conversation about this at the nearest opportune moment.
Tomorrow I will work on @chhavi feedbacks the entire day! So sorry for the delay!
I only have a few tiny things left-over from gci, mostly things that require decision or more input from someone who actually knows about it, so will be put on hold or given DR meeting topics. I will release gci version and finish lgs! version.
Finally I intend to finish OTHER-327 and finalize work on OTHER-326 (it too requires assistance form @reosarevok/@freso @yvanzo, @MajorLurker? anyone who has good input re: language and such. More on that next week.)
Here’s to not getting another heatwave or like breaking a leg or something else stupid!

@reosarevok

@reosarevok

I stopped melting, finally
So I did a lot of clean up and support, wrote some code for Wikimedia Eesti stuff to keep Python a bit fresh, and enjoyed being able to leave the shadow again
I wrote to the OL folks

in the past week I’ve run my mouth a lot and listened a lot at the Distributed Web conference in SF. bits were at the archive, which was nice.
I got to reconnect to a few people and meet the openlibrary folks, who are keen to work with us.
we need to sort out a joint roadmap for the two projects in hopes of not stepping on each others toes.
I also got explain the beginning on MusicBrainz to Sir Tim, during a long ride back to hotels in SF.
I met Vint Cerf and thanked him.
then later Whitland Diffie, the father public key cryptography went out of his way to compliment my hair.
my geek year is complete!
I’ve got some random and assorted meetings up here in seattle today/tomorrow, before I had back to the desert in san diego.
that will finally get really hot.
I’ve done airbnb reservations and visa letters and not too much else this week.
this will mostly continue this week.

@iliekcomputers

Most of this week was unproductive.
I think I’ve fixed the reason for that over the weekend.
(I’m starting sitting in the library these days to work)
I did work on AB over the weekend
Fixed PRs for dataset dumps, improved testing etc etc
Reviewed @little_rsh and @kartikeyaSh prs
Read up a bunch of spark stuff
For LB
Also, did a bit of visa stuff

@little_rsh

@little_rsh

This week I worked on some of iliekcomputers reviews on my opened PRs.
Completed the test PR (AB-352) which is merged now.
Working on evaluation scripts now which is the only remaining work of this gsoc project i suppose.
I’ll try to create a PR asap and will start writing the work product blog sooner.
And heading towards the last GSoC week

@Zas

configured and ready to work

@yvanzo

@yvanzo

Last hot week I fixed some other issues in MusicBrainz VM and rebuilt images (already available on FTP, to be announced soon).
I tried to improve ISNI support for both artist and label in SOLR.
I updated beta.musicbrainz.org and fixed a few small issues.
Along with usual stuff, that’s all from me.

@Leo_Verto

@Leo_Verto

I’ve spent the last week suffering without non-mobile internet, preparing datasets and building models for SpamBrainz, currently trying to deal with a model that gets up to 90% accuracy and then finds some stupid way to optimize the loss function while ruining the accuracy to guessing levels. Yay for machine learning black magic!
Other than that it’s just been unbearably hot here.

@shivamt

@shivamt

This week I wrapped up discard import entity and approve entity features
This took up more than expected time, as I had to build most of infrastructure for importEntities in parallel as of the regular entities
This required refactoring quite a bit of present code
and adding a lot of new features. I was saved by the existing code for a number of things.
The past three months have been a great learning experience for me.
I will try my best to wrap up edit and approve feature this week
Along with reviews and documentation for the existing work.

@chhavi

Making sure you're not a bot!

@chhavi

Worked on a PR for table component and opened a couple more documenting my existing work
Apart from that just tidying up for the last week and started working on my blog

@LordSputnik

Making sure you're not a bot!

@LordSputnik

This week I worked on improving our entity handling code, and getting rid of a load of Promise chains and 300-line functions. As part of that, I also added in relationship editing, and have worked out how to do entity merging and reverting merge revisions
I also met with @shivamt a few times, and reviewed some of his PRs. Finally talked with @Mr_Monkey about some BookBrainz getting started tasks, and he’s having a go at converting our JavaScript build system over to webpack
So far @Mr_Monkey is looking well suited to the new BookBrainz role, and I’d like to work out next steps with @Rob and him

@Freso

@Freso

I mostly had a spontaneous vacation kind of week this week, so other than a very minimum of IRC and forums, I’ve mostly just been keeping an eye on my e-mail to see if anything urgent came up.

@kartikeyaSh

Making sure you're not a bot!

@kartikeyaSh

This week I created PR for LB-384, LB-387 and I’ll create PRs for LB-385, LB-386 after the meeting (these are very small bugs). Apart from that, I worked on writing the blog post of my work at MessyBrainz I think I can get it done for a review by tomorrow around this time. I’m left with the integration tests for LB-384, LB-387 (most probably I’ll get it done before the final submission) and working on the reviews of the open PR.
And the GSoC project will be ‘kind of complete’. Unfortunately, I didn’t get time to work on any additional ideas.
