Just in case I am too late on tomorrow for meeting time, here is my review:
Short week on my end, with usual PR reviews, spam stuff and tickets triage,
Beyond that I continued working on MusicBrainz virtual machine: it now just requires someone else to test that reindexation still works with the latest build of search server/indexer.
Also invited jsturgis to join our organization on GitHub as he maintains MusicBrainz dockerization.

I have been doing massive isrcs adds for enka artist and then doing mass merges on those recordings.I am then adding years and labels to singles and albums that dont have info on there page due to Likedis Auto adding random labels with out having the correct info so basically a clean up on that

The project is now entering into an exciting phase with most of the work in the core back end completed. We’re now progressing to making the imports readily available to the users via search and recent imports page. This week I’ll try and finish up search UI along with displaying the import in its own page. We still have to finalize the process for editing and upgrading the imports, which will be the primary target for the upcoming week.

somehow I got sick again so I was working sporadically, but I managed to do some code review for mbs and design-system, fix & merge a couple of my PRs, and start converting some basic edit forms to React (nearly finished with the artist merge page, where you select the merge target)

I did support and a looot of classical cleanup stuff
Both diversity database related and not
Found a lot of nice music while doing that
Other than that, still relaxing, trying not to melt, swimming in lakes and playing Witcher 3

Spent some time handling reported forum posts and editors.
Including going through more (maybe the last) reported spam MB profiles (plz 2 not b report more before SpamBrainz is a thing) and added them to the list I’m sharing with yvanzo.
Also came across https://chaoss.community/ which I’ve made a note of looking more into.
Could be great to start getting some more numbers on community health.
Other than that, being around and about.
Also: FresoBot has finished going through Spotify URLs!
There will probably be a few outliers, but almost all Spotify URLs should now have been normalised. (Or will be in a week when all FresoBot’s open edits have applied.)
This should make it a lot easier to do Spotify–MB linkage now.

mostly dealt with forums
and search backlash
learnt that you cannot please everyone
we got pretty close though with my latest PR with primary aliases
so I am happy with that
apart from that, some routine maintainance since hetzner likes to do random VM reboots
and planning Picard 2.0 release which is this wednesday

Not much this week. Had a sync up with @bitmap, qill be working on documentation of our components and the UI table component this week
Alsooo. This week definitely gonna put up our summit tshirts on redbubble, up for sale. I should do that.

This week, I’ve been reading up on Spark and started some work on moving LB stuff to spark. Some progress there, nothing to show much yet, mostly spent time on reading.
Other than that, I worked with rsh7 testing and merging PRs, pointing out issues etc etc. Also, filled the GSoC eval, tried to find the fail all button but it wasn’t there.
Then, made a roadmap for moving AB to our Hetzner servers where all our other dockerized projects reside, with PRs to AB creating Dockerfiles and other config suff.
other than that, travelled 3 diff cities, meeting friends and such

I worked on a PR to keep the musicbrainz schema updated with the main MB db. Then I opened a small PR to add a sleep schedule for musicbrainz importer.
Now, I am working on writing tests for import_mb_db script.
will open a PR soon
Once I get reviews from @iliekcomputers on currently opened PR’s, we will move forward to be working on testing and deciding which method to use further for MB data use in AB.

last week was the usual guff, but quite a lot of it.
the only really interesting thing that has me excited is my work on automating quickbooks invoicing.
I’ve got that nearly working – that should make it a lot simpler to send out invoices each quarter.
right now it takes about 4 hours. if you could the procrastinating from me not wanting to do it, it is considerably more.
I’m working hard on getting the amount of time we spend on accounting back to a reasonable state – like 3-4 hours per quarter.
and we received a €65K payment from the BBC today – for 3 years.
that kinda stuff makes me happy.

I prepared a comparison with teir list of artists
aligned on VIAF data
Doremus/MusicBrainz comparison
things should move later to comparison of artist with other comparisons
and works probably later

given my last point about money in the bank – we have, or will soon, have $100k in the bank more than we need for a comfortable buffer.
BookBrainz need some serious attention if we want to bring it up to the standard our other projects.
should we do this?

It was enquired about whether @LordSputnik and @Leftmost_Cat had been asked about this, and @Rob said they were both on board, after which multiple people expressed that it was a good idea.

@Rob asked @LordSputnik to put together a small job description and in general for people to send anyone who be qualified his way.

almost no one, but zas has signed up to attend:

in order to start doing some planning, get signed up if you’re currently intending on attending.
also, I am considering making thursday more of a “fun” day.
last year I had instructed quesito to do that, but in the end nothing really happened.
I’m considering taking everyone to La Sagrada Familia.
or perhaps something else. but more of a day for getting out and about and not constantly working and staring at laptops.
