So this last week I spent a lot of time discussing GCI stuff and prepping things. Still a bit way to go, more on that shortly.
I did a slight bit of research into policies of other organisations, which resulted in opening ORG-30 after consulting with reosarevok and drsaunders. (Thanks!)
I did a wee bit of board secretarial stuff (such as actually finding out the full extend of my duties as such).
Poked a bit at some reported editors.
And otherwise hung around in the shadows of IRC and forums.

same old same old for me.
regular work on LB, 3-4 PRs changing RabbitMQ stuff, improving BigQuery, reviewing a few small PRs
Other than that, I added a feature to BrainzUtils that should make its integration into LB easier
Added some GCI tasks for LB and spent time trawling JIRA trying to find tasks appropriate for that.
some work on graphs to make that open PR ready, but haven’t pushed it yet.

busy with exams still, last one is tomorrow, then job season at our college. Mostly did PR reviews this week and looked into adding picard gci tasks. SOLR is all done, I am left setting it up on prod. db and testing it.
should be back working full time next week

I spent most of the week with family for thanksgiving, so didn’t get a lot done… I mostly just worked on preparing https://github.com/metabrainz/musicbrainz-serve… and answered a few support emails

I did support, helped CatQuest and Freso with GCI task preparation (still working on that), and made chhavi_ make a poster (well, she offered)

I did LB reviews and then got frustrated with our docker setup since it is very easy to have unintended side effects constantly
I had to have zas rescue me once again. thanks zas!
I also noticed that due to the same brittle setup the process that feeds listens to BigQuery broke and had been borked for 3 weeks.
clearly that needs monitoring.
the good thing? we seem to have not lost any data in this process. once we fixed the configuration, everything caught up.
I had a conference call with a potential supporter and a call with a HR consulting company in Oakland as our board is working to get me some professional help for managing HR issues.
clearly, I need professional help.
generally last week was without a lot of being kicked while down, so my spirits are up this week and working on some old annual reports that I hope to get done before the end of the year.

I went to the hackathon about musical metadata organized this week-end by the French national library BnF. http://www.bnf.fr/fr/evenements_et_culture/anx_auditoriums/f.hackathon_2017.html
I met @loujin (passing by), adim (hacking in team “Tous au concert”), and made contact with a few officials and techies from BnF and partners: Deezer, DOreMUS, INA, Philarmonie de Paris DOreMUS, SACEM.
People from the Symphonie de Paris were particularly enthusiastic. They maintain a very clean database of classical music events, with related works and extensive credits. They are willing to fit their data in the MusicBrainz database.
This will be scheduled in the following months, @loujin and me will let MB editors know when some help will be needed.
At least half people knew about MusicBrainz, others were generally very welcoming.

Nothing much for me this week…just added some GCI tasks for CB and searching for more. Started some work on CB-270. Will try finishing some part and send a PR after my exams.

Since my IR life was pretty shitty last week, I buried myself with doing loads of edits!
Had some serious internet issues on wednesday, taking my fux0red computer to be fixed on thursday, but still managed to do do some gci tasks editing. I’m sorry about all my absences!
Bothered reosarevok, freso and yvanso for help with task links and descriptions. they were all very helpful!

So this week I finally finished the validators for the new entity editor
That meant I could release them to production
Which I did…
Then people found some bugs (yay!) and I fixed those
Thanks to people who tested
I then added a few tasks for GCI
And now I’m focusing on the new relationship editor, and hopefully will have some mockups to discuss with chhavi within the next few weeks

GCI preparation has been going a bit slow and we’re not fully ready, but I feel we will be in 22½ hours when GCI goes live for students.
CatQuest has been doing a ton of work in thinking up tasks and gcilou (who’s not on IRC again D:) has been a good MeB co-admin partnet so far.
All in all, I feel we’re doing okay and will be ready in time for the GCI horde to flood us tomorrow.

Gadzooks. Somebody needs to contact the Berlin, New York and Stuttgart classical societies and warn them of Paris’ intentions!
