I did support, including (but not limited to) making zas do support for me.
I was editing a fair amount still, but I’ve decided to limit my voting + editing time to max. 5h per day, in order to have some sort of a life at the same time, so I edited a bit less than before!
Finally, I’ve given a proposal for the “levels in the structure of works” issue that I had been slacking on because of too much time spent editing: Levels in the structure of works - #94 by reosarevok - comments appreciated!
This week I’m in Sweden for the first residential period of my just-started master (http://www.hb.se/en/International-student/Program/Programmes-Autumn-2017/Masters-programme-Library-and-Information-Science-Digital-Library-and-Information-Services/) - hopefully that will eventually result in interesting ideas for ways to improve MusicBrainz and/or get it more connected with library-related stuff. That also means I’m not online all the time though, so if you need something from me, it might take longer than usual!

Just realised that the meeting is at 2 in the morning where I am, so I cannot be around.
Not much has changed since last week. I spent some time reviewing remaining GSoC submissions and writing evaluations.
Rest of the time was spent moving.

had issues with DHL
it’s related to musicbrainz because in the parcel was https://musicbrainz.org/release/db3603ac-61f0-4fee-9754-fe418ce48871 !!
But I finally got it and
Else I’ve been editing all the raw scans I’ve taken of the borrowed Debussy releases all month!
Making some passable progress there, starting work on instruments too!

I went to Sweden last week, and I’m still in Sweden right now.
I spent some time helping our GSoC student get their “final reports” published as blog posts on our blog.
I upgraded the Discourse install.
I spent some time looking at reported editors.
I managed to finally catch up on all the meeting notes.
And I spent a bunch of time on IRC and on the forums.

I fixed ftp.eu .. it ended to be some abusers causing all allowed connections to be used, i took required measures to solve it and prevent it
i did upgrades on all servers
i removed the IP blacklist for QNAP devices: queries are now filtered at nginx level
but it has a drawback: connect time is degraded for all connections, because of the high number of connections nginx gets now. I’ll prolly restore IP blacklist at some point
QNAP devices = 1500 req/s
legit traffic = 500 req/s
and it will not decrease
apart that, i did a bit of support waiting for answers though
upgraded Graphana graphs + minor things around, that’s all.

first a correction from past weeks: I had been quietly working on a new VM, making good progress.

I’m in the process of checking available options, finances and all that.
good thing is that we’ve got more than $200k in the bank, which is nearly a year of burn rate. good deal.
so, we’re in good shape overall.
more on that next week, I suppose.
last week I finished up the VM and starting picking up random MeB tasks. scheduling board meetings and silly things like this.
I need to review some LB PRs, but then I’ll be thinking more about making our office more comfy for the summit.

I worked on a lot of LB stuff this week. Have two branches will cool features almost ready to go.

1. Began showing graphs for top artists of a user
2. Almost done adding support for AudioScrobbler’s API v1.2 (which should allow LB to work with a few important clients like VLC and Spotify)

Also, made some changes on an already open PR adding artist counts to user.

spent more time on rest of the gsoc cleanup this week, figured out how to proceed with building plugins for different branches. also gsoc final evaluations and all. also my gsoc blog got published on hackernoon just now https://medium.com/@sambhavkothari/500-commits-of-summer-my-story-of-foss-and-gsoc-40bb8b325f65 apart from that, learnt lots of new stuff this week - mainly neural nets and deep learning

I spent some time figuring out how to make Spotify work with ListenBrainz and by that I mean I got other people to make Spotify work with ListenBrainz (is this how ruaok always feels like? it’s a great feeling!)
I also closed the survey last night, ending up with exactly 1,200 answers (minus some duplicates but eh) which took some prodding and shaming people into filling it out but I ended up with a nice round number so I’m pretty happy
I haven’t gotten around to starting the analysis so that’s the next big task for me

I ported our artist credit editor tests to Selenium, so the component is much better tested and the tests are easier to maintain
mostly finished restructuring the JSON dump PR, and fixed all the test failures it caused. may go back and improve the comments/documentation
fixed an issue with our CAA indexer that the IA reported…
we were sending multiple index updates very quickly for the same release which changed the checksum of the index.json files & confused rsync, filemtime() etc. which don’t detect subsecond mtimes
so the new files were never backed up and the checksum verification failed later on
also did code review & worked on some misc. mbs bugs which I haven’t finished

Last week, I became reponsive again!
Besides, I addressed three more small issues, fixed an implementation bug of my own, and started to take a look at the large PR for JSON dumps.
I also discovered a bunch of aliases with the discontinued locale code no for Norwegian, MBS-9441.
Last, I drew sketches for Summit 17 logo.

This week I haven’t done a whole lot, but I’m in the process off writing a load of new stuff for the new entity editor, and I’m hoping that’ll be done by the summit.
Also thinking about which British chocolate to bring to Barcelona!

After posting my short final report for GSoC I’ve been having a short break of coding and have been focused more on editing. Some cources start tomorrow so soon I’ll be little bit busier with studies. Later on this week I will continue my work to finally replace those search TT templates with React templates.

@Quesito asked for one more week of allowing t-shirt design entries. @Rob asked if she deemed that that would leave enough time to have them printed for the summit, to which she answered affirmatively. Anyone who commented voiced support for extending one more week and decided t-shirt design in the next meeting.
