I’m traveling with ferbncode to apply for the visa for the summit right now, so not able to make it to the meeting. I did some work on LB stats this week, addressed some review comments on PRs and got them merged. Also, talked with ruaok on what my gsoc work product will look like.

This week I worked on caching results obtained through fetch_multiple_* functions so that the entities can be fetched much faster. Also, started working on using the fetch_multiple_* functions on /review pages (PRs yet to be opened). Started very little work on the blog (the final product). Will be sending more PRs this week for completion of work in my proposal

• got Selenium tests passing in jenkins, merged the PR, so we’re able to write browser automation tests now
• worked more on the alternative tracklists UI
• experimented with adding types to our JavaScript

Last week I worked with Chhavi_ on setting up UX and trying to assist her with whatever she may need. I fear I am already failing her as I’ve taken vacation! I’m checking emails here and there but mostly trying for once to put down the devices.

so this week, I did the remaining part of plugin v2 port i.e. add picard.zip loading functionality in picard
apart from that stuck with tons of visa procedures

i gave some stats to chhavi_ about most used pages, based on our current traffic
i finally stopped queen’s mb website container, since i had to restart it each day during this week, it fails for some unknown reason
i had to clean up disks mostly on serge to regain a bit of space, and finally asked Gentlecat to move jenkins to williams (which has much more diskspace)
i upgraded discourse as requested by freso this morning
plus usual security upgrades and supervision

I came down with something last week, so I’ve been spending a lot of time in bed.
I did keep up with IRC and forums, and I managed to spend some time on reported editors, which also led to me to go over some CritiqueBrainz reports.
I tried to update Discourse, but it needed on-disk intervention, so I asked zas to intervene - which he did! So I should be able to manage Discourse updating again for a while.

I did support, a bit of style, sent a tiny PR to change one word (“Play on YouTube” instead of “Watch”)
Started planning my school trip (heads-up: I’ll be in Sweden for intensive schooling Sep 4-7 and I might or might not make the meeting / be around usually)
And cleaned up some more small composers, and even collaborated a bit with the larger Debussy effort
(we’re at 6 pages of recordings! Down from 19+, that’s pretty impressive!)

Doing little bit of this and that. Not that much time left so I have actived the panic mode xD But more seriously, it’s been clear some time already that my work with the project should continue after GSoC. There’s multiple factors why everything didn’t go exactly as planned. Not going to go into details but the main factor would be the lack of earlier experience with javascript/react. I’m still kinda happy how things are. Project already got a good start and in September I would have more time to request some community feedback (as planned on my proposal).
On Friday I was going to leave my home when I heard some shouting, screaming and gun was fired. One person stabbed 10 persons, one stabbing happened 3 metres from the door of my home building. 10 metres from it police shot the stabber (to leg). First terror attack in Finland. Pictures from my door have been now on BBC, CNN, etc. For understandable reasons I’m not that well focused on the coding right now and haven’t slept that well. But I will be fine.

Worked on the modifications in CB api
Minor changes in docs
Currently working on converting ratings to appropriate scales

as usual, reviewed a lot of GSoC stuff
implemented integration with Flake8 for CB
helped zas handle jenkins today
won’t be around for the next 2 weeks, but will try to check the GSoC work when I can

I was in town for two days and dealt with a Mish mash of stuff.
Visa stuff, meb stuff, some code reviews, some lb stuff.
Not a lot really.
The my city got attacked and I started doing what any sane person would.
Deliver margaritas to friends.
Now, I’m off in the forest hiking, avoiding the heat of bcn.

There was general consensus that a t-shirt for the upcoming summit would be cool, and a number of ideas were tossed around. In the end, it was decided to gather ideas in a Google document, and discuss more at a future meeting. The Google document can be found here:
