So I patched a couple of remaining bugs in the new json WS for picard.
And worked with chhavi_ on new ui for MB pages
And also researched on Elk stack for parsing and making visuals on MB logs

last week I spent traveling home and being sick.
and pestering people to import into LB, which worked.
mid way through we got to 10M listens and made plans for promoting the test to beta.
and even that was quite a upgrade process, I was somewhat surprised as how complex the upgrade was.
but that worked and we doubled the number of listens with one blog post.
I’m hoping that the bigquery team will make the LB dataset live, so I can do the next blog post.
so, this will enabled everyone to make life queries against the data. which is pretty exciting, really.
I did a few other boring behind the scenes sort of things last week. that about rounds it out.
I wanted to take a moment to thank iliekcomputers and alastairp for being such excellent partner’s in crime in this process.
yes, it took far too long.
but, I think we’re come up with something that is a solid base for us to work with and I suspect that we should have some progress pretty fast.
exciting, for sure.
sadly, I do not see chhavi here – I wanted to take a moment to introduce her to the rest of the team.
samj1912 convinced her to pop in and help out with UX bits and she jumped right in.
she did a mock up that was… beautiful. it opened my eyes to what sort of problems we can solve with a proper UI/UX.
both Quesito and I are quite excited for this.
especially in light of the UX person whom we interviewed a couple of weeks ago.
she fell quite flat and was clearly not going to be a good fit for our team.
so chhavi is coming at the perfect time for us and I really hope we can convince her to help us with a lot more problems.

so last week I was busy with supporter bits, we are getting a few researchers, and some nice possible connections to more non-profits
and some food planning for summit
I will make an extra column–so if you are coming I need you to ensure you update and fill in your food preference!!

and finally got into Datavis a bit more
learnng a lot and getting a lot of help from loujine!

I basically tried juggling keeping up with everything with the growing anxiety of moving. I thought it’d be done by now, but it won’t actually be done until tomorrow, so I get a few more hours of being anxious. Yay!
I also removed a bit of spam (we got another collection DMCA) and started contact with some guy who’s apparently doing FLOSS outreaching stuff in Latin America.
It would be great if we could get more people involved from that region.
Oh.
I also helped Gentlecat move.

well, I finished this branch to remove global variable hacks and unbreak our UI tests by switching to a headless chrome setup
which doesn’t sound exciting, but is kind of necessary to make UI improvements in the future
I didn’t do much else other than help mildly with the LB switchover

I worked a little on some things LB needed for the switch over this week.
Also, fixed a bug or two that came up later.
I’ll start working on adding stats to LB this week
also, I went with ferbncode to talk to the head of my dept. about the possibility of working on something MeB related as my major project
He told me to come back with some concrete ideas to discuss by Friday

this week I worked on accessing information about artists (almost completed) and also worked on mocking the database queries for tests (some changes left)
Booked my tickets to the summit and also, passed GSoC second evaluations \o/. Thanks alastairp, Gentlecat, ruaok and MeB.

This week I will continue my work with input components for search conditions. I will soon start replacing search result TT templates used on MB with React code I wrote for my project.

I think the time might have come to move this out of user-space.
firstly we should ask colbydray about it.
secondly, do we want that? do we want to make it (semi)official, etc. or just move it out so anyone can edit it/keep it uptodate

@Freso pointed out that we already have a “(semi)official” wiki page at Making sure you're not a bot!

Despite pinging a couple of people, the topic didn’t generate a lot of discussion and thus also no consensus from the meeting. @Freso suggested that @ApeKattQuest_MonkeyPython talk with @CallerNo6 about it to get something more actionable and then either bring it up again or «just WP:BB it.»

Quesito and I chatted more about the summit today.
first: if you plan to attend, please update the wiki page.
most important for us to know: when you arrive and when you depart. this is important for trip lodging planning.
[@Quesito: and enter your food preferences people :)]
so, if you plan to attend we’d like two things: food preferences and arrival departure dates.
even if you haven’t gotten your plane ticket yet, take a guess at dates you might be here for.
[@Quesito is also working up possible plans for getting us a nicer than your average bear kind of tour of La Sagrada Familia.]
in general I wanted to point out that we’re putting a bit more effort into this summit to make up for the last one (two sort of).
we’re hoping for it to be fun, better coordinated and longer.
if you’re on the fence about coming, make up your mind soon.
if you would like support for your plane ticket to come to the summit: ping me.
I am looking forward to this.

and if you have something you are working on / have worked on–we are thinking of some presentations (short) so lets all marinate on that…

@iliekcomputers asked «visa appointments require us to have proof of hotel bookings etc. so I was hoping to know exactly what our plans regarding that are. Should me and ferbncode book our own airbnb or something?» and @Rob said to coordinate after the meeting.
