Multiple Artists Plug-In or Script?

I’ve been looking through the Plug-Ins and can’t seem to find what I’m looking for.
When Picard looks up the tracks it has Original and New Value. Many times the Original Value of Artist is only the Primary and then the New value has all these multiples. The same goes for the “Artists” tag.

Is there any way to eliminate all those multiples and just keep the one Original?

Have a look at the Additional Artists Variables plugin. It provides variables for the primary (first) artist for both album and track, along with a lot more information. Some documentation is available at the repository on GitHub.
