Moving .lrc files accurately

Hi, I’m not sure quite how to move LRC files accurately. I basically have one giant folder with a ton of lrc and music files mixed together. How do I get the lyric files moved along side the music files to new directories?

Adding here that currently, it tries to move all the LRC files irrespective of title to the first album I save/move.

Moving and renaming .lrc files together with the music file is currently not supported.

I thought we had a ticket for this, but I couldn’t find one. I added https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/PICARD-2820

What I’d actually like to see is that we generalize support for moving and renaming companion files alongside the music files.

thank you! I hope to see support come through, I’m not sure I want to process my library unless it’s a possibility.

That ticket really didn’t go anywhere… in that time we have LRCLIB to import and export lyrics into Picard but the support is pointless to me when my track file names don’t match the LRC files after saving cause they get renamed and sorted and the LRC files are left unchanged.

While yes you can bring back your files back into Picard with the new file names and scrape the lyrics then but I have already existing external .LRC files that originated from the source so sometimes I don’t even need to rely on LRCLIB but Picard can’t rename these files so I end up having to copy paste every track manually one by one and it’s extremely frustrating and time consuming.

I’m aware of tools such as Bulk rename utility that can do this but it too is another thing I do not want to deal with.

I’m honestly surprised Picard hasn’t figured out how to rename external files lyrics and even artwork. At best it can transfer file types but that’s it. I hope this issue gets addressed
