There are 2 different Greatest Hits releases by Motley Crue that were released. Both say “Greate$t Hit$” on all cover art. (Release group “Greatest Hits” by Mötley Crüe - MusicBrainz) & (Release group “Greatest Hits” by Mötley Crüe - MusicBrainz) (The cover art is similar, but the releases have different track listings. Discogs has it as “Greatest Hits” on their master, but a mix on the releases. Wikipedia has it as “Greatest Hits, stylized as GREATE$T HIT$”. It’s been mixed on MB for a while. I think we should have it consistent on all releases, as all the cover art is both. I changed the ones that were listed as Greate$t Hit$ to just Greatest Hits thinking it was graphic artist (stylistic) choice and not necessarily artist intent. I honestly don’t care either way, just would like to have it consistent through all releases. So, what do others think? “Greatest Hits” or “Greate$t Hit$”?
I would have kept the $ in the title. Especially if both front and spine show it. If feels like the (music) artist acknowledging that this is a cash-in album selling you the tracks you already have. It is a bit like the umlaut in their name - not really need, but a style choice.
If there are two albums with the same name, but a totally different track list, then that is two RGs. If the tracklist is the same but in a shuffled order then that is the same RG.
