Hello,
First, sorry for my english …
I hope to be on the good place.
I have some box from metallica like :
1983 - Kill 'Em All (Remastered Deluxe Edition) (Box Set) (6CD)
1984 - Ride The Lightning (Remastered Deluxe Edition) (Box Set) (7CD)
1986 - Master Of Puppets (Remastered Deluxe Edition) (Box Set) (9CD)
and for this no problem in Kodi, well in subfolders :

But for
1988 - …And Justice for All (Remastered Deluxe Edition 2018) (8CD)
It don’t work :

I hope somebody could help me ? Thanksss…
Kodi’s boxset view relies on a few things. One is needing the disc subtitles in MB so KODI can tell it is a box set.
I don’t know which exact boxset you have matched to, but I guess it is one of the Digital Media ones. Instead of the CD. What you need to do is use Picard or MP3TAG to add “Disc Subtitles” to each of the separate disks.
Some boxsets in MB do have the subtitles. i.e. https://musicbrainz.org/release/2d9bd8a7-a20a-4e84-8f6d-21e4155f9e17
I’ll go add missing ones for you. Then you can rescan tags and pick these up.
The thread you really want is here in the KODI forum. It is where this feature was initially added.

Edit: I have updated the MB boxsets with subtitles for the separate parts. TO fix KODI you now want to rescan your boxset in Picard and add the missing subtitles. Then return to KODI and force it to do a rescan of the album - make it recheck the data.
In Library View, find album, RIGHT CLICK, Select “Scan to Library”, say YES to “Do full tag scan even when music files are unchanged”

Hi, there,
I’m coming back because I have several Boxset that are giving me trouble but I don’t feel like bothering sb to do the job every time…
I’ve tried to translate the page into French but I still don’t understand everything.
What is MB, for example?
I see in musicbrainz that I use to tag for example :

But when I go into Kodi I have all the title in one only folder and it’s The big mess
Is there a tutorial for that ? Does I have to edit on musicbrainz or in Kodi or in Picard ??
Thanks a lot
Hello, come back for a up … Thanks for help
I’m on holiday so not online this week. MB = MusicBrainz.
Your main way of fixing your music is get a tagger like MP3TAG and add Disc Subtitle to the boxsets. As I am not at home I can’t tell you what that tag is. Look at some boxsets that work and see what has been filled in.
Add this subtitle to your other boxsets and you are good to go. KODI will then recognise that your multiple disc set is a boxset.
I’ll help more again next week.
