I would like to create a ticket in the bug tracker. The webpage does not contain any hint, which user it expects for login. I assumed the obvious and tried to log in using the same user I use at musicbrainz.org and metabrainz.org. The log-in form does not accept that input. Does this server hosted Jira require a separate user?

Yes, you need to create a separate user for the ticket system. It’s unfortunately not integrated with the MB login.
