Thank you for your debugging!
I created a ticket for that:
Update
It’s fixed.
Hi @a23bed, could you check if you still have this bug with Tampermonkey when not on debug level?
I have tested today and could not reproduce.
Is anyone having issues with @jesus2099 “Mass Merge Recordings” script?
I’m trying to use it as usual but it doesn’t go beyond the “Fetching recordings…” passage which means it doesn’t load the source release!
Mine has stopped working altogether: no sidebar.
I have version 2024.8.13 on Greasemonkey. Browser is Firefox version 128.0.3
I have version 2024.8.13 as well, but on Tampermonkey and Firefox 129.0.1.
I still have the sidebar though
Could be a Firefox thing? My v2024.8.13 is working fine on Vivaldi (Chrome based)
There have been 2 recent changes.
Could you please install these 2 older versions and tell me which one works:
#2 brings back the side bar for me. #1 does nothing.
Could you report missing info, in this topic or in the GitHub issue ticket, please?
I need this from you both, if possible (in red):
What I need the most, now, are the last two lines (error message and older OK version)
Uncaught TypeError: releaseAC is null
loadReleasePage mb.-MASS-MERGE-RECORDINGS.user.js:982
n helpers.js:71
Is it with any releases or just with specific 2 releases, and which ones?
Using latest script version 2024.8.13, error appears for example with any of the releases in RG Release group “Day of the Dead” by John Harrison - MusicBrainz but then I tried other random releases just added from the main MB page and the script is working fine for them all!
OK this one has pending edits on one of the RG artist credits!
Thanks very much!
This one is fixed, @Antiguastrea.
Please update to version 2024.8.20 and tell me.
Yeah I updated to 2024.8.20 and it started working again on those releases as well. Thank you very much!
I have had an update of Firefox to 129.0.2 (64-bits) and updated mb. MASS MERGE RECORDINGS to 2024.8.20 and now the side bar has appeared again. Recordings seem to load as well.
Whatever the issue was, it has disappeared for now. Thanks @jesus2099
Oh yes indeed, the new stuff I have used recently, only works with Firefox 129+!
And Chromium/Chrome 125+.
Both are very recent versions, from this summer, only!
I have problem with my Kiwi browser (Chromium 124).
I didn’t know I used a function so high tech.
I have a use case for this that doesn’t seem to work and hangs, but I do not know if it is even supposed to be a supported function.
I am trying to use mass merge within the same release to merge the recordings of the 2 mediums as they are the same, just with different bitrates. I can correctly position the tracks in the merge and it appears like it’s all set to merge like normal but then it just sits at “stacking 1/2” on the first recording and never progresses.
I also tested the script on another recording in case my script install or browser was broken, but it worked fine in the test scenario.
Release in question:
Edit: Added screenshot.
Thank you very much, it’s a legit use case, enabled since 2015.
I made a regression recently, please update to version 2024.8.30, it should work now.
I have merged track 1, you can do the others.
Working now, thanks!
On a different note, is there, or will there be added, the ability to merge more than 2 releases?
If not directly, if it used to merge release B into A, and release C to A afterward, would that work or would the B/A merge cause the C/A merge to fail when it completes?
