hey again ![]()
some of you probably remember Make-a-Wrapped from when I posted it on reddit last year, and then again a month or two ago with the updates. well, v1.1.0 is finally out and this one is a pretty big one.
the biggest thing is probably the new template marketplace.
you can now browse community-made templates, and I’ve also added a visual template editor so people can actually make their own without having to touch the code. you get a real canvas, example listening data, artwork, text, stats etc and can just drag everything around until it looks right.
then you can submit the template and, after review, it’ll show up in the marketplace for everyone else to use.
there’s also now a button directly in the normal template selector to go browse the marketplace, so you don’t have to go hunting for it separately.
other stuff in this release:
- Libre.fm support
- a bunch of template system improvements
- better template submission/moderation stuff
- an experimental Navidrome implementation that can generate some libraries WAY faster
- various other fixes and improvements
the Navidrome one is particularly stupid because the initial implementation took ~5 minutes on my library and the experimental one gets it down to around 0.5 seconds. unfortunately the API it’s using is still in development, so the stable ~3.6 second implementation is still the default for now.
Libre.fm is also currently a bit complicated because of their rate limits, so that’s in there but I’m still figuring out what the best way to handle it is.
as usual, it’s completely open source and the whole thing is still meant to be basically “Spotify Wrapped, except you don’t need to use Spotify”.
if anyone wants to make a template, please do lol, I’d genuinely love to see what people come up with.
lmk what you think!!!
