it is not a hard to get around go to system preferences then go to security and privacy and clicking “Open anyway.” i had the same problem i forgot how to get around it

Picard 2.2.2 is available, better performance for Windows and macOS

We have released Picard 2.2.2. Since this fixes a packaging bug on Windows and macOS with a noticeable impact on performance for clustering and lookup matches I recommend you to upgrade. Picard on Linux and other platforms was not affected by this performance regression, but there are a couple of other fixes and improvements. More details in our blog post:
