There’s been a regression on the Listens tab. It used to use the MB recording name for track titles, then it was changed a few months ago to use the user-submitted title (possibly only if MBIDs are submitted?). Now it’s reverted to the MB recording name again.
I can somewhat confirm although listens submitted by BrainzPlayer seem unaffected?

Until I spotted this outlier. It wasn’t submitted by BrainzPlayer yet shows the recording name instead of the submitted track name:

I’ve noticed this as well. Particularly if the artist credits (featured artists and join phrases) are different on a recording compared to what’s embedded in my local files will I question if my submitted songs have been incorrectly tagged: The featured artists and join phrases will be a single link instead of each artist being an individual link (even after refreshing the page).
Three more items of note that I just observed:
Actual bug:
- The ‘Previous’ button on the ‘Stats → View more… → Artists/Albums/Tracks’ pages points to the current page instead of the previous page. In other words, it currently functions as a reload button.
Two more tiny issues that have no real bearing on usage but would be nice to have fixed:
- The ‘Stats → View more… → Artists/Albums/Tracks’ pages still use the ‘[LB].org/user/username/charts/[…]’ URL scheme instead of the new ‘[LB].org/user/username/stats/[…]’ URL scheme.
- The ‘Playlists’ tab has an empty space before the exclamation mark, which I don’t think is standard in English: “No playlists to show yet. Come back later !”
Thanks for the feedback!
Point taken for the more actions vertical dots button, it is indeed way too thin! I’ve amended LB-991 accordingly (not exactly the issue you describe, but very much related).
As for the Fresh Releases page: we have big plans to update this page (LB-1172) and I’ve added your suggestion (which I’ve also thought to myself) to default to your personalized page. Also mentioned that we might want to avoid automatically scrolling to today’s date.
It seems to be working fine for me because the JavaScript handling the button press is correct, however the href
attribute isn’t set for the previous button which breaks Ctrl+click/open in new tab.
EDIT: I filed a PR to fix this.
It would be cool to have the option to remove all scrobbles from an artist. I’m streaming local artists on Spotify on repeat to support them. I thought I wasn’t enabling Spotify scrobbling but just found that unwanted listening was included on my profile.
Are raw recommendations still available? I can’t seem to find where they are at.
We are slowly phasing those out as they were more of a test bed for recommendations.
We will be presenting them in a more user-friendly manner in the dashboard “recommendations” tab, but for the moment you can still access them at https://listenbrainz.org/recommended/tracks/YourUserName/raw/ (of course replacing YourUserName)
It’s been fixed with the latest ListenBrainz server update, which I’m guessing included your PR.
Thank you!
Unfortunately, after this latest server update, the ‘Link with MusicBrainz’ option does nothing for me anymore. Something appears to have changed in the code and broken manually linking listens.
I wasn’t sure where to report it, so I am reporting it here.
I’ve been experiencing the same issue, actually… I can paste a link in the little pop up, but then nothing happens
Just chiming in to say I’m having the same issue, the Link button doesn’t do anything (at least not that I can see) since the last update.
welcome to the forums, @ladywhiskers94
I just tested it again while creating a ticket for it, but this time it worked for me. still created the ticket in case the issue still exists for others tho
The issue persists for me. Also statistics for my account have last time got updated last Thursday, May 4th. Maybe that’s related? A day later it’s also when I noticed the manual mapping not working.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
It’s a tiny bit frustrating to see important (to me, anyway) functionality broken for days like this with no acknowledgement from the devs, despite the issue having been reported days ago.
I’ve had to resort to keeping a cumbersome, ever-growing .txt list of listens to manually link when (if?) the functionality ever comes back online.
I noticed that too. What’s weird is that while the weekly, monthly and yearly stats cut of at May 4th, my last week stats go up to May 7th and show the correct stats there. So it seems like statistics could only be partially computed.
Sorry about the lack of reporting!
I’m working on fixing the link with musicbrainz feature, should be done later today.
I broke it while trying to improve it to allow searching by track name or by MBID/ MB URL.
Thank you very much for the update!
That issue with the listen linking is now fixed!
You can now search by text or by MBID or MB URL, both for linking listens and adding new listens manually.
Thanks for your patience!
Thanks! I just tested it out now and it’s working just fine for me again.
