When I save, I move the files to a different folder.
But I also want the OG copy to be kept in the place, and in essence move a duplicate. Is that possible?
Currently copying instead of moving is not possible, no. There is an open ticket for this, with some discussion on how this is supposed to actually work in detail:

The very stone-age work-around would be to make a copy of your pre-tagged music folder and then tag-save-move the original folder etc.

Which is also very viable.

… especially on Macs with the APFS filesystem, as it doesn’t even take any space or time to duplicate huge folders.
