IPLS TIPL performer tag

Hi,

I never used that tag and my plan was to use these tag in musicbee because i read that they offer the possibility to use this tag.

Musicbee is also a new program that I want to use.

When strolling around with the performer tag in Musicbrainz I found out that the tag exceed 255 characters in mp3tag (involvedpeople)

Also they include in engineer, aranger, recorder, mix…..

So I am a little bit confused how to use this tag.

So I was wondering how you guys use this info?

Second I was wondering how i can write the values in separated tags so they appear in MP3tag.

They use there \\ to put them in differed separated fields so i have 255 characters for 1 field?

Normal it should be possible to write the engineer, arranger, recorder, mix…. values to user defind tags I think.

Also for mp4 tags I can see performer values but only at album level, not at track level.

I read somewhere on this forum that Mp4 don’t support performer tag.

Is there a way to write those tag to user-defind tags???

thnx

If you use the ID3v2 v2.4 tags then you won’t hit those length limits as you’ll have separate tags for each item.

I am guessing you are using MP3 here?

MP3 or MP4 would not have different tags between album\track level. That is album specific and not format specific.

Hi,

thank you for your time.

I did change the format to id3 2.4 8utf and run my clean test tracks (only album, artist, title, disc, track number) again in musicbrainz.

now in the involvedpeople tag it writes: arranger , engineer, mixer, producer

Musicbrainz trigger a new tag

MUSICIANCREDITS : performer, performers

In mp3tag the fields are not separeted in mp3tag, musicbrainz use ; to separate the fields, in mp3tag it is \\

so i must find a way to replace; with \\. don’t know yet how to do that….

Now for the part of the mp4 tracks.

When place tack 1 to track 7 and read the “empty” field of track number 1 it gives performers.

When placing the track back on his position 1, the performer data disappear

I wanted to write the performer data to an user defined tag…..

I am able to retrieve the names but not the part of vocal, instruments

In both programs, MB Picard AND Mp3tag?

not yet, in reading mode nothing get changed in the tag.

It tell me what fields are triggered in picard and the value. In mp3tag you see the value of multiple tracks like in a spreadcheet.
