Importing ListenBrainz-created playlist to Soundiiz?

I’ve been trying to import a ListenBrainz-created playlist into Soundiiz so I can then migrate the playlist to Qobuz.

I provide Soundiiz with the URL of the LB playlist, and it imports the list with no problem, but it is recognizing the album title as the artist name, so when it goes to associate the songs with tracks on Qobuz, it can’t find any of them.

Is there anything I can do to get this working? Thank you!

Hello @jacksaturn !

I’ve never tried Soundiiz and it looks like I can’t try it without an account.
They don’t list ListenBrainz in their available services to read from, so it’s interesting to learn it even works at all

I don’t have a better suggestion than downloading the playlist in JSPF format (a playlist interchange format) and trying to import that in Qobuz.
Not sure if Qobuz or Soundiiz have an option for importing from a file, but it’s worth a try:

In the playlist options menu, look for “Export as JSPF”:

Thanks for the suggestion @mr_monkey ! I had actually tried importing the JSPF file to Soundiiz and received an error, but seeing your reply gave me an idea.

I was able to convert the JSPF file to XSPF format using this website: https://jspfconvert.pages.dev/

Then I imported the XSPF version into Soundiiz, which it was able to read with no problem!

It didn’t recognize a good chunk of the songs, but that’s almost definitely a Soundiiz or Qobuz issue, which I will investigate further.

Thanks for your help with this!

We do have an option to export to XSPF partially coded, but last I checked it was missing something, or had a bug, and nobody has touched it since.
I will have another look to see if it can be added back in, since it can obviously be helpful to some

For what it’s worth, matching actual tracks from a playlist description is hard, so I’m not surprised these tools don’t do a great job of it.
After all, we too struggle when importing playlists, and we have an entire project and experience of music metadata backing us!

Glad you got something working in the end, and glad I was of help, if only partially!

If only they used the MBID provided ; )
