The following message appears:
MusicBrainz login failed
I had this several times in the last months. In most cases it works if you click the button again.
Nein.
Anyone fancy some cookies? ![]()
Same here, doesn’t work currently. I wonder whether it maybe got blocked?
Even people from the MB management board? ![]()
I’ve tried logging in multiple times and now it seems MB has blocked my IP. ![]()
It should work now, test again.
@chaban if your IP is blocked, mail it to me, I can check.
It’s not that important. Tomorrow I’ll have a new one.
You can now log in to https://acoustid.org/.
We’d all like to thank the invisible but very helpful hand. ![]()
Getting “MusicBrainz login failed” / “Google authentication failed” error others have reported before. Tried both providers multiple times throughout the day:
- MusicBrainz: confirmed on my MusicBrainz account’s Applications page that AcoustID was granted access (shows a “Last granted token” timestamp from today), but acoustid.org still bounces back to the sign-in page with “MusicBrainz login failed.”
- Google: got an email from Google confirming the sign-in to acoustid.org completed successfully, but acoustid.org again bounces back with “Google authentication failed.”
So both providers are completing their side successfully, but acoustid.org itself isn’t picking up the session afterward. Just trying to get an API key to use with beets’ chroma plugin — happy to provide more details if it helps track it down.
This is resurrecting a previous thread but I am new here and want to report the same issue. Neither MusicBrainz nor Google sign ins are working (meanwhile both are successfully signed in and active in other tabs in the same browser).
Both MusicBrainz and Google auth are throwing failures for me across multiple networks. Cookies deleting didn’t help. Changing browsers didn’t help either.
The fails have gone up another level this morning. Clicking on an AcoustID gives this:
Server likely getting hammered by bots. @lukz will no doubt give the server a kick at some point and all will be back to normal.
Hi, im new here. Im trying to register in AccoustID and i get this message “MusicBrainz login failed”. Is this normal? what should i do?
Same here, is this happening often? Downloaded new EAC after many years and was wondering how this AcoustID works, but it turns out it doesn’t at all. I guess I just stick to keep using AccurateRip.
If I’m not mistaken EAC only submits the AcousID fingerprints to the DB and that’s it. You can find something very brief in the log file like this:
---- AcoustID Plugin V1.2.0
Total fingerprints: 10
Or if the submission fails there will be something else:
Submitting 9 results to AcoustID
AcoustID submission failed. Error: blah blah whatever the cause was
EAC is making use of the DiscIDs \ TOC of a CD to ID your disc. MB (or other sources) for a track list. And AccurateRip to tell you how good your CD ripped. It makes no use at all of AcoustID.
As @spUdux says, the only thing EAC does is submit AcoustIDs to add to the database. EAC works just fine without AcoustID.
Same issue here today (July 24) — MusicBrainz login failed, tried Chrome and Safari, cleared cookies, created a fresh MusicBrainz account, still fails
Same here. Login failed with MusicBraiz and Google account (July 24).
It’s back up.
Yay - thanks @lukz
