How to determine type of compact disc / CD

If you have in a Linux environment (or cygwin under windows) you can use “cdrecord -atip” to check the disc type.

I used also cdrdao disk-info, or something like that.
And yes, for me, a CD-R has no value, I would not be happy if I bought one as if it was a regular CD.
