How to credit a release when there's conflicting artist credit

This album is upcoming and has inconsistent artist crediting in different places.

The label posted this:

In her newly-formed rock band, Laura Jane Grace is joined by her wife Paris Campbell Grace (vocals), and Athens, Greece-based musicians Jacopo Fokas (bass) and Orestis Lagadinos (drums) to form Laura Jane Grace In The Trauma Tropes.

The release artwork says “Laura Jane Grace In the Trauma Tropes”.

Streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) have the artist as simply “Laura Jane Grace”.

What should the artist credit for this release be in MusicBrainz? I think “Laura Jane Grace In the Trauma Tropes” based on the cover art, but others think it should just be “Laura Jane Grace”.

A shop being late to update the title they have on their shelf is not a reason for bad data in MB. Looks like an artist has made a group with her name in it. Pretty normal occurrence.

yeah, it sounds like a streaming service hack to get all their releases in one place to me…

that said, if it’s consistent across all streaming services, it might make sense to enter the artist as “Laura Jane Grace In The Trauma Tropes” credited as “Laura Jane Grace”. I wouldn’t do this for the physical releases tho, just the digital releases where it applies
