How long does it take for a release to be linked

hello everybody,

yesterday i bought a record on bandcamp and noticed that despite the album is present on musicbrainz, listenbrainz still does not recognize it and ask me to link every track, which i did anyway, but to this morning listenbrainz hasn’t been updated yet and it still ask me to link the songs

how long does it take for the database to update?or is (as i read somewhere) updated every sunday?or even, i just did something wrong?

thank you

If you have an unmatched listen in your stats and then you manually link the listen, the stats will not update until the next time listens are loaded again (2nd and 16th of the month, see above)

I’m wondering if you’ve tagged your files with MBP before listening. I think if you do so, then you won’t have to manually link anything. Could save you some time in the future.

i didn’t but, i thought about it and did in a subsequent release

or better, i generated an acoustid and submitted it via mbp, is this sufficient?as yes this will save me time in case

I don’t know much about this, never used acoustID much myself, so I might very well be wrong. But I don’t think LB uses acoustIDs to map listens to recordings. Perhaps someone else can confirm this?

ok, so what i need to do is to just choose a tag from picard and save it, to let mbp find everything?or how do i do it?

You can tag your files following this guide

i don’t need a guide on tagging releases

you said that using picard would save me time when linking musicbrainz releases to listenbrainz entries, did i understood bad?i’ve just asked you what was then the method since we are not sure about acoustid

Sorry I misunderstood.

What I meant was that if you tag your files using MBP before you listen to the files, then you won’t have to link the listens because the data sent to LB will already contain the proper MBID. That doesn’t solve unlinked-listens that were already submitted to LB, I think you’d still have to manually link those. But it prevents adding new unlinked-listens in LB, so it would save you time in the future.
