How do I make soundtrack albums from Anime Movies

There is a soundtrack from from “Dragon Ball Z - Lord Slug”. There is something called " English dub soundtrack" from Funimation’s in-house English adaptation of Lord Slug. There are (13) songs in all that are really good songs like from "Boy Hits Car and Finger Eleven and Disturbed and so on. I have downloaded all (13) songs and I want to make a soundtrack called “Dragon Ball z - Lord Slug” or “DBZ - Lord Slug” something like this. How would I go by creating my own soundtrack album. I found a nice clean image for the album art from the movie poster without text on the cover. It looks pretty good actually. But I don’t know how to work the tags.

First there are multiple artists and there are multiple release dates for each song. So should I do something like tag it as multiple artists and then genre as multiple genres or how should I do the tagging for something like this. Plus there will be other soundtracks as well for a few other movies from Dragon Ball Z. Currently all the songs from the movie are inside a folder called “Dragon Ball Z Lord Slug Soundtrack”. And no there is no actual soundtrack I don’t think. These are just songs from the movies.

Firstly, please don’t add these kind of homebrew releases/compilations to the MusicBrainz database! As a communal database it is not useful to store releases that the wider public don’t have access to (except for, maybe, some special cases).

As for making the compilation yourself/in your own files, it shouldn’t be too tricky.

  • Backup the music files, into a temporary folder, just in case
  • Download a tagger like MusicBrainz Picard (or mp3tag, etc)
  • Drag in all the files that you have downloaded/want in the soundtrack into Picard
  • Select all of them (or ctrl + a)
  • With all selected, change the album artist tag (type it into the bottom right panel in Picard), to “various artists”
  • With all selected, change the *album" tag to what you want the compilation to be called
  • Drag the image you would like as the cover onto the picture of the CD at the bottom right of Picard
  • Go into Picard > Options > Options, and have a muck around
  • With all selected, click save in Picard
