How do artists tag their own music?

Hi gang,

I searched on this topic but came up empty. I am certain that someone else has asked this question.

I create albums on macOS and other Apple operating systems. ChatGPT and AI Song Generator.

In the past I have used Apple Music / iTunes for creating tags. It’s a bit more laborious than it should be in that environment. Additionally, many tags and album artwork get lost, and I have to do Command-I, approve, again and again, often repeating my efforts and this provides no portability context.

There are no tags for my creations in the public domain so far.

It picks up track names and numbers with aplomb. The album artwork addition routine is stellar.

Is there a more streamlined method of specifying track names?

SIDE TOPIC: I see other users of Picard using Mozart AI music creator as well. How do users like that software? My membership comes up for renewal for AI Song Generator in the fall. Should I plan to switch to that song generator?

Thanks in advance,

Art Brymer

With most DAW’s artists can add metadata when exporting the audio file, but you can also use various software (Picard, VLC, Mp3tag, Audacity to name a few) to add metadata manually.

Or, if it’s publicly released music, add it to MB (preferably with tags like “ai-generated” “ai cover”) and use Picard or Mp3tag to add metadata to the files automatically
