Hi, I'm a mac user with a question

I downloaded and purchased Meta for Mac based on a suggestion in this forum. However, I am experiencing difficulties getting it to function properly. I have added all my untitled tracks, but it appears that I need to provide information for the app to work. Ironically, obtaining the missing information is the very reason why I purchased the app in the first place! Do you have any suggestions for an alternative app or method that could help me retrieve the necessary information for my untitled tracks? I am open to purchasing another app if needed. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Haven’t tried MusicBrainz Picard yet? It “listens” to your music, i.e. it analyzes the music itself to find the right album in the MusicBrainz database and tags it accordingly. Existing tags are helpful, but not necessary if the album is in the MB database. It is free of charge.

Alternatively, you can buy the SongKong app, which does the same thing, but fully automatically. As a bonus, it uses both the Discogs database and the MB database to find and tag even more albums.

Both work best if your music files are already sorted into album folders, but even a folder with random audio files from different albums will be sorted as well as possible.

Picard would have been my first suggestion also (disclosure: I’m one of the developers).

But another alternative would be Mp3Tag for Mac. Other then the Windows version the version for macOS is a paid app. But it does have a free trial version available.

I don’t know anything about Meta for Mac, so can’t help with that one.
