Guideline change: Audiobook/Audio Drama relationship suggestions

A way I handle something like this is create a Work for the music, and a Work for the drama. Then link both to the recording. The music is played, followed by the drama.

If the music is an already known piece, then just link that work.

I get this with the 1950s audio dramas I mentioned above. Musical pieces appear in between the drama. So a single recording can be linked to three works - one of the AudioDrama, and two musical pieces.

If a show has a regular theme tune I see it would be logical to have a Work for that theme tune, and just link it to the first recording. The recording then includes two works.

(I may have over waffled above… :grin::nerd_face:)

This is why so many Series have been created. The audio recordings should more be about the Actor\Artist than the role they play.

Hmm, script editor may be more accurate as a ā€œwriter (additional)ā€ credit on the work itself?

I don’t know much about this role though, perhaps it is release/performance based (e.g. if you might have new script editors every time the same work is performed).

It is always valid to leave notes in the annotation for credits that you have not been able to enter with 100% accuracy.

This is an example where I would leave a note in the annotation.

If you come across a common credit that can’t be entered, you can also open a ticket to have the relationships added! :flexed_biceps:

Thanks for that! Senior Producer is a pretty common credit now, most new Big Finish releases seem to have it. With that in mind, I’ve created STYLE-2686.

And yeah, script editors give feedback to writers, and make partial adjustments to the scripts, so additional writer sounds the most accurate to me.
