How does this work, exactly?
A week ago I took a screenshot of my graph and then mass-tagged a bunch of recordings/albums that I had listened to. In particular “grindcore” and “death metal” - that should have caused quite a spike in those stats by now, but I can see no or very little difference.
I can think of a few reasons for this:
- The stats/graph does not retroactively update genre data
- Genres that were on albums were already being propagated down to recordings (so tagging the recordings didn’t make a difference)
- The graph shows album plays or artist plays instead of recording graphs (e.g. grindcore=5 on the graph does not = 5 grindcore songs played, but 5 combined artist or album plays?), which would make the graph change less
I’m keen to get to the bottom of this - then we can add an info box to the feature ![]()
