Group + artist names on cover

How do you suggest handling it if there is both a group name and individual artists’ names (the members of the group) on the cover? Here’s an example of what I mean: https://beta.musicbrainz.org/release/4d3581a1-4cb9-4242-8d7a-ae33f6c394bc/cover-art

I’ve just been putting the group name on the release, but wanted to double check.

That’s what I would have done as well, which means there’s probably a different preferred way of handling it.

I guess that’s settled, then. :sunglasses:

Let’s pick this topic, but from a little different point of view.

I have a release (https://musicbrainz.org/release/025212ba-9cd9-41ad-acb2-f7647e9a6e48), more or less a “Classical” release, with a lot of performing artist (12 CDs).

Here I have e.g. a crediting artist from the book:
“Cherubini Quartett (Christoph Poppen, Harald Schoneweg, Hariolf Schlichtig, Manuel Fischer-Dieskau)”.

The members of the Cherubini Quartet have changed over the time, and maybe therefore also the performing members are listed.

How to do it in this case?
Just credit the group?
Credit the group and also the members?
Credit the group as “Group name (member1, member 2, …)”?

It’s an artist credit with a performing artist relationship on Recording level and not an artist credit for the Release/Medium, and so there is also no way of doing it with Join Phrase, which would make it easier to cover this case.

I would credit the group as recording artist, and credit the members (and possibly also the group) as actual relationships
