The current version of MusicBrainz Picard (v2.6.3) does not save the fingerprint (created by the external commandline tool fpcalc.exe
) inside the track.

In MB Picard, one action is “Generate Fingerprints”, the other is “Submit AcoustIDs”. I wonder why it is not “Submit Fingerprints” - why only the AcoustID gets stored in a tag but not the fingerprint.
As far as I understand, an AcoustID is a cluster of fingerprints. A fingerprint not similar enough will be clustered into another AcoustID.
