Fetching ISRCs from Spotify

It’s actually spotify limiting the playlist functionality via the api

I will probably have to strip the playlist functionality.

Now Avast won’t let me connect to it. It states that it’s a Tech Scam. That’s odd, since it’s not even a Tech Support page. Microsoft isn’t allowing connections because it says it’s missing a certificate.

Nowadays, there are no real viruses anymore.
Once upon a time it was a jungle.
All you need is the built-in Windows Defender.

Well, I don’t think that’s true. But regardless, Microsoft won’t let me connect either. Are you able to connect to it?

This site works for me:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-for-Developers/Changes-to-Web-API/td-p/6540414

Not that site. ISRC Hunt. It’s being blocked by Microsoft for not having a certificate.

It’s not microsoft, it’s the browser. Nowadays, sites uses HTTPS for more security, but this require a certificate. And if the certificate expire, it means that the site isn’t trusted. Heck, it happened to me too

You can still access it, but make sure to not be on public wifi/mobile data. If not, you can still go, but it’s at your own risks.

Edit: Whitelist the site in your browser/antivirus
Alternatively, you can use Harmony to get the ISRCs. There’s also this userscript to make it easier to go to the seeder page: MusicBrainz-UserScripts/musicbrainz-go-to-harmony.user.js at main · RustyNova016/MusicBrainz-UserScripts · GitHub

I’ve tried MS Edge, Chrome & Firefox. All are blocking. I added it as an exception to my antivirus and it’s still getting blocked. I’m on a private home network. Harmony only forwards you to ISRC Hunt, which is the site I’m talking about. Everything has been fine up until a few days ago. I know what they are. I use MagicISRC as a backup. So, it’s not that big of a deal. Just was curious if others were also having issues. I’ll look into whitelisting the site on my browser. Avast can be causing some issues as it does definitely get overzealous at times.

Okay. I feel stupid. When I added as an exception to Avast I typed in “www.isrchunt.com” and not just “isrchunt.com”. It’s letting me go there now.

It may also be due to renewing the certificate. Eset not fussed by it, but also showing renewal 14 November.

Just to clarify that: The only page Harmony forwards you to is MB.
Everything else is just links to the data sources, the code on GitHub and MagicISRC.
ISRC Hunt is not linked anywhere, unless you are using a userscript which adds links to it.
