[feature request/discussion] Song obsessions/Pinned songs feature improvements

I use Last.fm’s song obsessions feature to track what I listen to on the loop for the week, but it would be nice if there’s a way to do that on ListenBrainz (alongside adding support for importing them from Last.fm and having an option to show multiple current obsessions in a public auto-playlist). I may probably file this in the issue tracker soon if the forums aren’t the right place for feature request discussions.

As for the regular discussion side of this thread, what are the workarounds you currently use (e.g., manually managing a playlist dedicated to that) at the moment?

EDIT 2025-08-03: While pinned songs exist, it’s not feature parity with the Last.fm side of things.

I don’t use LastFM, so how does song obssesion works? Does it takes the most listened recording of that last 7 days and put it on there? Or just the one that has been listened in a loop the most?

It worked similarly to pinned songs in Listenbrainz, but you have longer character limits (or none if I remembered, haven’t try to write longer than 200 by the way).

Also haven’t seen that UI, might be me stuck figuring where is that on the dashboard for some time.
