I seem to remember that I was able to edit tags on anyone’s posts, but now I don’t see that button? at least on mobile, haven’t checked on the desktop version yet…
I know @jesus2099 did it all the time too, lol

You are no longer considered a Regular user by Discourse. If you aren’t active enough in the forums, you can lose that badge. As a Member user, you have also lost the privilege to edit tags.
(I’ve been through that process a couple of times already as I’m a regular reader but I only post when I have the time and/or something important to say.)

ah, gotcha. I know there’s been several Discourse updates since I tried last, so wanted to be sure it wasn’t an accidental regression, lol

Yes, I like to categorise topics. 
Users with the Regular badge can do this with the topic edit pencil icon:

Note that you need to hover your mouse pointer over the topic for the edit pencil to appear (at least on my browser).
