Editing Tags -> Applying Missing From xx items to the ones missing them

When you’re presented with this:

…and you want to add that same value to the items that are missing it.

If you simply enter the box to edit … and press enter. You still end up with the same thing.

If you want to add that value to the missing items, you need to do change the value to something else completely.

Then change it back:

To get this: (It will be applied to all tracks selected)

Is this intentional?

Hello, I come from 3 years in the future and I’m appalled to see that you got no answer to this. Seems to me a rather convoluted way to apply a pretty straightforward change.

Looks like changes are only actually applied if the value gets changed.

But this is a good example why it’s better to report issues on the issue tracker (https://tickets.metabrainz.org/projects/PICARD/issues/PICARD-2011). Forum posts will just vanish under newer posts.

Granted it’s not automatic, instead of adding an integer and removing it, you can copy + paste the present value and it will fill in the files with gaps.
