I’ve noticed Picard will automatically create a custom comment tag whenever brackets or parentheses are present within the standard comment tag.
For example, an original comment tag in a flac file reads…
Comment: 1991+ Reissue based on 19 cent postcard stamp (1991 to 1994)
But loading these files in Picard, I see this new tag:
Comment [1991 to 1994]: 1991+ Reissue based on 19 cent postcard stamp
…and the usual Comment field is empty.
The original Comment tag came from Foobar2000 and is a Vorbis field. The new tag seems dependent upon the presence of brackets or parentheses in the comment field, and the brackets with its text is appended to the Comment name as shown above.
How can I disable this behavior?
