I like the idea of including full cover art with releases --booklets, medium, etc. If you’re creating a database it should be complete, right?
My concern is about copyright infringement. I’ve been reading past discussions about this but there doesn’t seem to be a clear consensus of what’s the right thing to do. I’ve seen that some labels clearly state that they don’t want the booklets downloaded for anything other than personal use. I understand that the Cover Art Archive is legally a library. So, if I scan stuff, is it REALLY okay to add it to the archive?
Is anyone else thinking about this? I’d love to hear your thoughts if you are.
