I really like the idea and, as you were saying, would encourage to add more genres and ratings.
That’s a nice way to discover new musics, especially if it could work with the folksnomy tags, could make nice collections more reachable

fine, I’ve been convinced… post your favorite folksonomy tags here~ I’m disappointed I’ve lost the zalgo tag, I found a great release in there, it was on Bandcamp, and the music was good… I thought I’d download it later, but I didn’t… zalgo is terrible for SEO too…

The future of ratings

Realized I just answered partially to the question: So based on my usage I’m quite happy with the current star rating system, don’t take much space and easy to use. What maybe miss to increase usage is the ability to mass tag, it’s available within Picard but may be useful to have this option directly within the main website (There is a high “entry cost” for users who want to start using this feature, imagine tagging one by one 200 releases and their associated recordings :/) On the contrary w…
