@XonE OK.
But why is the unenlarged image #2 blurry, while the enlarged image #3 looks very good?

Increased from 1000 to 1300.
Only added 1/3 pixel.
We have no information about how this scan was created.
On the second screenshot, the image is scaled down to about 750×750 pixels. Third is the full image (all available info) scaled up to fit your screen, which smooths out the compression artifacts a bit, so subjectively it might look better than the “real” image.
BTW, there are alternative JPEG decoders like GitHub - victorvde/jpeg2png: silky smooth JPEG decoding or GitHub - ilyakurdyukov/jpeg-quantsmooth: JPEG artifacts removal based on quantization coefficients. which can reduce those JPEG artifacts, but only if you have the original image as linked by mfmeulenbelt above (doesn’t work from screenshots). Covers processed with those probably shouldn’t be uploaded to MB / CAA, but having the original images here enables users to use those tools on them for their personal collection (and generally give the best source for editing them).
I found allmusic blocked the easy way a couple of years ago. I really hate spending the time searching the “page source” to find art, but sometimes it’s the only game in town, not just allmusic but other sites as well. Slightly off topic, is it me or is it getting harder to research music, paywalls, aggressive cookie digging, ads and videos consuming bandwidth, and so on.
The version bundled with it is outdated. It doesn’t include the newest fix for Allmusic
I can right click copy URL, open in tab or even save, directly from the big image.
Maybe I have a right click enabler extension in Vivaldi… I’ll check it out next time I’m on desktop.
Update: I think it’s Ultimate Enable Right Click ─ Allow Copy.
@Antichrist01
i do not know allmusics image processing. i think it is safe to say, that, if there are images for a release on allmusic, there are at least three images: a thumbnail, a small 400x image and a bigger scan (where the size varies, i have seen 700x and 1200x images i think). imo they “protect” their bigger scans from being grabbed by making it harder to get.
@dashv
i agree. maybe they want to sell their data rather than letting it stay open in public. but especially allmusic is changing. the ad behaviour on the site is ridiculous. (can be blocked, though)
Bummer, thanks for letting me know!
I will now open image links in a new tab to let the native img max url userscript run on it first, before pasting it to MB.
Unfortunately, AllMusic sometimes provides a 400p Front cover and a 1080p Back cover.
Example:
https://www.allmusic.com/album/release/biggabush-free-mr0000122393
So it’s not possible to automate it completely. In the end, a human has to make a decision. Maybe let a plugin or script show available covers in their maximum resolutions, the user clicks the checkbox next to the accepted images, and only then presses the Upload button.
Nothing is automated completely.
I forgot to mention that I also use the Display CAA image dimensions userscript, you can use that in conjunction with the max img url and Enhanced Cover Art upload userscripts to check and upload everything without having to download images first.
Maybe somehow combine these three scripts into one.
