Hi
I’m a little confused as to how we add additional “places” to existing locations, for example we have Oneida County:

But it doesn’t have a sub-part Minocqua (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minocqua,_Wisconsin )
Yet my home county in England has most small towns/villages listed:

How do we expand this list?
The locations where automatically copied from wikidata but it looks like that stopped years ago.
Areas used to be automatically imported from Wikidata based on certain criteria. However, this in turn led to some editors making bad edits on Wikidata to trigger it getting imported to MB, so we moved away from this.
As @mfmeulenbelt says, the procedure right now is to request an Area when you need it. @drsaunde is our main “Location Editor ” and often responds to new AREQ tickets in less than 24 hours. It is not the plan that this is how we will handle Areas permanently, but until we figure ou…
I think the process is to create a ticket to add areas as needed.

Goto the following:
https://tickets.metabrainz.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa
Login then you’ll see a green button at top that says “create”. Select “Area Request” under project. Leave as task. I usually just type the name of the place you want to add in summary and in description add the Wikipedia link if there is one. Areas are usually added within days of request. Just look at the many area request already there for better understanding.
