A multi‐source seeder for digital releases

If it’s Spotify only release, I usually don’t mark it Worldwide. Fortunately, most aren’t, but looks like this one might be.

When adding releases by ATO Records with a-tisket be very careful. Typically, there is a standalone US release, standalone CA release partnered with a 2nd label (Fontana North, etc) & a release outside of North America. This is very common and a-tisket unfortunately treats them all the same because the barcode is the same with 2 extra zeroes added on US releases and not on others, etc. Best practice is to look at the Spotify ISRC submit page (https://d.ontun.es/) or Spotify API (which https://d.ontun.es/ uses). This way you’ll see all the different releases next to each other and know which releases are where. The Apple Music releases have different IDs in the different countries, even though they might share the same base barcode.

This is another reason why a-tisket should use Apple IDs for the search instead of barcodes. If it used IDs this error would never occur.

Update: Example release group: Release group “NYE (Violents remix)” by Joseph - MusicBrainz

Any chance of a dark theme?

EDIT: Please make the logo into a hyperlink that leads to https://atisket.pulsewidth.org.uk/ , if you searched for something and want to search for something else entirely there doesn’t seem to way to do that except manually going to that link again.

You can just scroll to the bottom and search again. The Dark Reader Chrome extension works great on a-tisket if you want a dark mode.

Searching again for a completely different album merges the two searches for me, doesnt it for you?

Good point about dark reader.

you have to click “clear search form” next to where you enter the link :3

fwiw I’ve clicked that header logo heaps of times expecting it to take me to the home page

Ah, gotcha. That’s a bit confusing but now I know.

I still think the logo should be clickable though, that’s just standard website stuff.

@atj : Apple Music URLs no longer work for non-streaming, download-only releases. The failure of #2 and #3, which still exist in the iTunes Music Store, match up with this behavior change.

My current understanding is that Spotify was launched in Curaçao, however a significant portion of the catalogue is not available, due to (what I assume are) licensing issues. You can see residents of Curaçao expressing their frustration with this on Twitter:

Personally I would mark a release which is unavailable in Curaçao as worldwide, but my opinion on the utility of adding 150+ release events differs significantly from many people here.

The logo now links back to the homepage. If the logo appears very small then you need to clear your cache in order to fetch the updated CSS file.

I wish there was a way to complement existing releases with spotify links, itunes links, barcodes etc. Sometimes its all there except the barcode for example.

EDIT: Oh yeah, how could I forget? Artist spotify links, sometimes there’s a lot of em!

Example: https://atisket.pulsewidth.org.uk/?cached=5060514962138-d_83539412-s_7IAB2sKMWwni4vmapc4PCq-i_1437008246

One might think that this already fits with this release: Release “Forza Horizon 4: Hospital Soundtrack” by Various Artists - MusicBrainz

But there’s no handy way to get to that handy screen that adds the cover, ISRC, artist link without actually submitting a release… or sometimes there is…? i forget.

Thanks for adding the logo link!

I haven’t been able to seed anything using atj’s mirror for a few minutes now. Every time I load a release into it (via Spotify), I get no results. This is extremely unusual.
I tested it using a Deezer link and got results then; there was an error message saying the server had an invalid Spotify API key. @atj, I think you’d better look into this.

If Spotify banned his API key, it’s likely they’ll continue to do so in the future should it be changed because they frown on what the tool is doing.

I have to wonder if the negative changes Apple has made to their public API is for the same reason.

I was about to edit my post to say that the mirror’s key is working again. Maybe there was some sort of outage?
Something to continue monitoring, for sure.

Sorry, didn’t see this message until just now, I’ll look at the logs when I have time. Given that it appears to be working again it was like either a server connectivity issue or a Spotify issue.

I think this is highly unlikely to be honest. The changes are a result of Apple switching from a “legacy” purchase/download platform to a new streaming model. The days of consumers purchasing releases and syncing iTunes libraries to their devices is pretty much over. It’s sad for those of us who view music as more than a commodity, but the general public now expect to be able to pay a monthly fee for unlimited access to a vast library of streaming music.

Apparently Spotify allows for letters in UPCs. This release was difficult to seed; I had to remove the “UPC” and the usual complementary links did not appear.

Might have found a bug:

if you add a new release and start adding artist relationships afterwards it might ask you to add relationships that are already there if the existing relationship has a type.

Example link I got for an artist: Log In - MusicBrainz the itunes link is missing though but I’m not going to submit this for now.

Got the link from this page: Complementary links for SPEED BALL EVOLUTION by Various Artists (I’m gonna add the rest of the links here)

If you click the first link you can see that there’s already a Spotify and Deezer link on this artist page but they also have the “stream for free” relationship type and yet it the web tool (2nd link) asks me to add these links. Maybe this relationship type prevents the tool from detecting the artist links while adding as well?
