I’m happy to observe and report that BookBrainz has just reached the 50,000 works mark. Though the number is small when compared to the sheer number of works to be catalogued, I think it’s a great milestone. Based on current trends, 100,000 works should be achievable by end of the year!
Congrats BB contributors!
10% added in the last 30 days? Crazy (5681/50174)
Just wondering, do you use any importers/scripts @indy133?
No, we don’t have any scripts for BB yet. I have taken 90% manually from “real books” ;-). 10% are copy and pasted from other sources.
Certainly reason to celebrate. And since BB is the only DB actually cataloguing works, not just books, we can already claim we are the largest literary works database!!
Many people have contributed to BB, but let’s be honest, this recent escalation is mostly due to you, @pbryan, and of course to @indy133 's constant work, so my special congratulations to the two of you.
This is not quite correct. “ISFDB” does that too. But of course it is specialised in one topic.
Absolutely true. But BB is still the only general DB for literary works, which makes it one of a kind in my — ha! — book.
Congrats BB contributors!
I will celebrate by entering all the works I’ve been putting off !
Congratulations team, yayyy
