I think the merge makes a lot of sense, but it could be controversial, so I’d like to get counter arguments now and not angry comments after the merge is applied and only a few people saw it.

An iTunes release got removed and updated with a previously missing track under a new id. Old id is gone. But there’s some other old id which redirects to said new id.

Can I have some help here, please? For now it looks like the editor who downvoted is not coming back with an answer.
As for the edit, I provided multiple links in the comments to prove my point. This artist is consistently stylised as ‘K Á R Y Y N’ and the only places where it’s written without spaces are e-stores or other third parties. The cover art for CD also has her name spaced out.
edit: In all honesty I think that not only this release group, but all of her credits should be spaced out, leaving ‘KÁRYYN’ only as the sort name.

Two things:
- Anybody care to vote on the edits to make this artist go away? When I saw it was the only one of 9 artists that didn’t have a disambiguation, and that all the tracks were on compilation/dj albums, my gut said something was fishy. Sure enough, I traced the three compilation tracks to three OTHER artists that already exist in the database.

- Similarly, this release doesn’t actually exist (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MC_Hawking#Fictional_discography). I’ve entered edits to merge the recordings into actually released (or in a few cases standalone) recordings before the release itself is removed.

Wasn’t sure if I should necropost in one of the gdpr tagged threads or create a new topic but it’s still voting related.
An editor has added an artist with exact birthday and now wants to remove this date.
Apparently it’s the artist herself. So far I couldn’t find any other public source for that date. Her user profile on MB displays her age though. Should we let this slip through?

Hello all you nice AE people…
In the next 24 hours the edits I did in that thread should drop into place. There is a longish list of identical changes that were done. Voting is generally positive and the majority seems to be with 3-2 even a 4-2 in places. Other “yes” votes were verbal in the thread from MB staff.
But there may be an issue I need AE help with on Tuesday. Some of these are still sitting on 2-2 due to the length of the list. If those on 2-2 are still like that this time tomorrow then there will be a awkward state of the changes having been half applied to some releases.
Please help me make sure that whatever the majority vote decides is then applied to all these edits in a consistent manner. If the majority of the edits are still in the positive votes then please help by pushing the 2-2 votes up to the same level.
Lets make this “all or nothing” - if that makes sense. Thanks.
